Citrix/ Windows/VMware Systems Engineer

Arrow Electronics has an excellent opportunity for a Citrix/VMware/Windows Engineer in our Bangalore, India location. This position will be responsible for internal dedicated and on-prem & Cloud server infrastructure in a global, complex, and rapidly growing environment. This role will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our Core Infrastructure division production, staging, and test ecosystems. We are looking for a Senior Systems Citrix/Vmware/windows systems Engineer to be part of a strong and expanding team. The ideal candidate is someone who has in-depth experience administering production enterprise-level and highly available systems and a passion for identifying and implementing system improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and manage Citrix policies.
• Create new catalogs, and delivery groups, and publish applications.
• Hands-on experience with Citrix DaaS on Azure
• Troubleshoot and resolve Citrix performance issues.
• Creating and managing user accounts and security policies within Citrix environments
• Monitoring Citrix systems performance to ensure maximum uptime for users' productivity.
• Conducting performance tuning and optimization of Citrix environments.
• Ownership of various systems engineering projects related to Windows systems infrastructure
• Perform ESXi and vCenter patching.
• Monitor and manage Azure storage.
• Expertise in VMware ESXi 7.0.3 and VMware 8.0.
• Manage VM disk expansion and datastore reclamation/expansion.
• Create and delete virtual machines as required.
• Plan, design, and implement necessary configurations to ensure disaster recovery policies and compliance with Citrix /windows/VMware systems.
• Implement, Develop, and maintain Citrix-related standards, policies, and procedures
• Monitor ESXi host health and troubleshoot issues.
• Build ESXi clusters from scratch.
• Proficiency in VMware tools such as Log Insight, VMware Orchestrator, and VMware vRealize Automation (vRA).
• Manage Windows file servers, print servers, Active Directory, and group policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve disk space issues and performance bottlenecks on Windows servers.
• Fix vulnerabilities in Windows environments.
• Experience in Zerto DR configuration.
• Knowledge of patch management tools, preferably Ivanti.
• Create and manage virtual machines within the Nutanix environment.
• Perform Nutanix patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage and optimize Nutanix storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot Nutanix performance issues and ensure system reliability.
• Architect and administer production environment Active Directory domain, DNS, and group policy in accordance with best practices.
• Citrix administration in Azure cloud environment.
• Architect, build, and troubleshoot Windows 2008, 2012, & 2016 systems for production and test platforms
• Knowledge of Windows inbuilt tools to review error logs and user-reported errors and identify stable and reliable solutions
• Worked on VDI environments
• Knowledge of Monitoring tools to scrutinize performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes. This can involve monitoring daily traffic logs and reports or working directly with end users
• Perform automation of routine tasks using PowerShell to increase systems efficiency and reduce human intervention
• Manage systems and network security to meet best practices and allow appropriate access without adding additional risk
• Capacity planning and management
• Design and maintain backup and redundancy strategies
• Manage Windows RDS environment for internal division employees to access production systems and applications
• Develop and update documentation of network and systems architecture
• Cross-train infrastructure team members in areas of expertise
• Work with systems and infrastructure manager and team to develop and implement infrastructure policies and procedures.
• Work on Hardware refresh/ upgrades.
• Maintain system security by noticing faults and vulnerabilities within the server’s architecture.
• Experience with XenDesktop,XenApp, and VDI.
• Manage Citrix Farms 6.5\7.x with Terminal Servers Upgrade/Maintenance
• Perform administration of virtual desktops using Citrix Studio\tools.
• Responsible for internal communication of critical systems information
• Develop, maintain, and document Citrix, Vmware & Windows, and infrastructure installation and configuration procedures
• Rotating on-call responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• 10 + years of experience in Citrix, Vmware, Windows, and Nutanix administration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent understanding of virtualization, Citrix, cloud, and server technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
• Certification in VMware, Citrix, and Windows Server, is a plus.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation is an advantage.
• Strong Knowledge of Microsoft DC\DNS\AD\DHCP\Group policy\IIS
• Utilizing PowerShell and/or other scripting technologies for server administration
• Experience with IIS, WSUS, RDS, and Windows Cluster management
• Understanding of storage and SAN technologies
