Amongst the handful players to offer entire selection of cinemas - including PVR-INOX, we launched movie bookings in May 2019 – a globally unique offering at Amazon in partnership with leading vertical specialist BookMyShow. The partnership gave us access to deep integrations with cinemas allowing us to create integrated end-to-end booking experience on Amazon. We raise bar in selection, pricing and customer service jointly with our partner. In the long term, we believe India is seeing a mass increase in discretionary spends and ever increasing number of customers are engaging in entertainment; the intersection of Movie Tickets with payments & Prime offers us a unique opportunity to serve our customers with innovative solutions.
In this role, we are looking for a seasoned business leader - with startup instincts - who will lead the business growth for Movie ticketing on Amazon; she or he will define and own the short and long term business outcomes.
This role will be responsible for 1) Develop short and long term goals for business growth and own the P&L; 2) Develop and lead weekly, monthly, and annual business reviews; 3) Establish and lead implementation of category learnings, insight and business strategies, driving prioritization balanced by sound business/market rationale and thought leadership; 4) Manage and own the promotional strategy and planning across all channels, post-analysis reporting; 5) Partner with other Amazon teams such as Pay, Categories, and Prime to identify and execute opportunities; 6) Identify new approaches for growing the business, driving initiatives to increase category awareness, and creating processes to better manage the performance of the category over the long term; 7) Partner effectively with marketing teams to drive adoption of new business features and use cases; 8) Develop fact-based, quantitative analysis of consumer and competitive trends, with actionable insights and recommendations.
The candidate for this position will 1) possess strong experience of establishing and growing categories; 2) have experience of working with senior internal and external business, marketing, and customer service leaders; 3) should be strong with numbers and analysis; 4) is expected to develop a broad understanding of movies and entertainment business to emerge as a subject matter expert for this business at Amazon. The ideal candidate sees around corners, is biased for action in ensuring the team is set up for success in achieving our goals, and earns trust through broad stakeholder influence. This role will get exposure to senior leadership in online travel industry.

2. Has strong understanding on all levers of online business including pricing, selection, convenience, & awareness.

You must not only be able to develop and drive clear strategic initiatives, but also roll up your sleeves, dig in to understand many perspectives and experiences, identify and analyze data to isolate issues, develop solutions and prioritize opportunities for growing business and get the job done. This role is inherently cross-organizational and forming rapport, gaining trust internal and external senior leadership is a must. You will be visible and play a vocal role in championing Movie adoption and drive right synergies to deliver.
- 6+ years of with Excel experience
- 6+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years of professional or military experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
