Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to join our team based in Pune or Chennai. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in Big Data technologies and a strong background in programming and data architecture. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage technical communications, design solutions independently, and adapt to evolving project needs.Software Requirements:Strong programming skills in backend languages such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.Proficient in Big Data technologies and frameworks.Knowledge of data formats and tools including Avro, Parquet, HBase, Hive, Impala, and Arcadia.Familiarity with both non-relational and relational databases (Oracle, SAP, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.).Overall Responsibilities:Analyze requirements, design, develop, and deploy projects/tasks while adhering to existing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards.Provide accurate project/task effort estimates and regular progress updates, including issue reporting.Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure successful project delivery.Scope and deliver various Python and Big Data solutions.Independently design solutions based on high-level architecture.Manage technical communications between survey vendors and internal systems.Provide Level 3 (L3) support for delivered projects.Adapt to changing project needs and technology requirements.Design, model, develop, and deploy data ingestion tasks using approved toolsets.Develop automated monitoring tools using standard tools (Shell script, Python, Java, Scala, etc.).Oversee data conversion and migration into the Big Data platform.Category-wise Technical Skills:Programming Languages: Python, Java, Shell Scripting.Big Data Technologies:Experience with Hadoop ecosystem components (HBase, Hive, Impala).Familiarity with data serialization formats (Avro, Parquet).Databases: Proficient in both relational (Oracle, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, NoSQL) databases.Data Migration and Enrichment: Experience in data migration processes and data enrichment within the Hadoop space.Automation and Monitoring: Development of automated monitoring tools and scripts.Experience:Minimum of 8 years of experience in Big Data engineering or a similar role.Proven experience in programming and data architecture.Day-to-Day Activities:Participate in requirement analysis and project design discussions.Develop and deploy Big Data solutions based on project specifications.Conduct regular project progress reviews and address any issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and project success.Provide technical support and guidance for delivered projects.Monitor and optimize data ingestion processes and automated tools.Qualification:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Relevant certifications in Big Data technologies or architectures are a plus.Soft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies.Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.S​YNECHRON’S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT Diversity & Inclusion are fundamental to our culture, and Synechron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
