Your Role and Responsibilities
Who you are Trusted client advisor and specialist on all benefits matters. A curious disruptor with a positive attitude to support review, design, develop, and deliver IBM benefits programs that are essential, innovative, promote enhanced employee experience, and are aligned with the business landscape.

Support the review and delivery of employee benefits programs across India, South Asia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region in collaboration with local, regional, and global benefits and HR teams. Benefits programs include health benefits, disability benefits, retirement plans, life insurance, company cars, leaves, and other ancillary benefits.

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Support employee benefits program review based on market trends research, data-driven insights through analysis on workforce needs, benefits usage, cost analysis, etc.
  • Build and develop a business case. Ensure necessary reviews and approvals are secured (e.g., local HR, Finance, Legal, ER/LR, etc.).
  • Ensure project plan development/management, cadence meetings, and management status updates.
  • Ensure alignment of benefits programs to country legislative updates and IBM’s changing business needs.
  • Identify programs promoting employees’s wellbeing and coordinate vendor interactions as necessary.
  • Support promotional communications development, e.g., drafting mailings, promotional material, and intranet pages.
  • Support the collection of feedback and survey deployment.
  • Collaborate effectively and/or lead cross-functional, international teams in various capacities to advance program objectives and integrate with other HR programs.
  • Manage the end-to-end benefits operation agenda for a sub-region.
  • Responsibility over day-to-day benefits operations, such as executing timely/accurate benefits disbursement, maintaining correct control posture through IBM controls processes, having vendor/broker operational oversight, proposing design changes, program management, stakeholder management, executing health promotion programs, and negotiating contracts in RFP and renewal times by determining the rules and features of the IBM plans and benchmarking the plans against those of IBM’s competitors.
  • Support audits and help ensure business controls compliance of benefit programs.
  • In addition, this job role requires frequent teaming with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, employee communications, business development, and financial reporting related to the benefits programs.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Analytical skills with expertise in gathering and analyzing complex data
  • Strong consulting and project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to build a business case and collaborate seamlessly across functions including legal, finance, business unit leaders, local teams, and external consultants
  • Interest in and basic understanding of employee benefits.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint presentation skills and well-versed in Microsoft applications
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times with the ability to prioritize work when there are competing demands and urgent business needs


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Flawless execution of benefits programs such as medical, life, disability, leaves, transportation, etc.
  • Analyze existing benefits programs and compare them to those of competing employers.
  • Recommend new/modify benefits programs to ensure IBM’s benefits programs remain competitive.
  • Analyze processes and recommend improvements/simplification/automation, both process and technology.
  • Have a business mindset to ensure benefits solutions are driving revenue and contributing to the employee experience.
  • Manage stakeholders such as HR leaders, CFOs, business leaders, and CGMs.
