Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implements (hands-on) the Murex module components based on Sapient and industry best practices. These components could be custom built, or built using a third party tool and also could involve extending a TRM industry package
- Estimates the implementation and deployment of the Murex module based on module design and how the module fits into the overall project architecture, construction and testing strategy and overall project plan.
- Supports multiple modules or the whole application/package in production, resolve hot issues and implement and deploy enhancements to the application/package
- Gives a detailed point of view on technology stack, package and latest technology and business trends in one or more areas of TRM (e.g. Fixed Income, FX, Clearing and Settlement). Drives authoring of technology proofs of concept, white papers.
- Interacts with a set of clients (from Business and IT Organization) to create technology specifications from business requirements for one of the Murex modules within the project
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of hands-on Murex MXML experience
- Prepares the technical design of the more complex technology components within the Murex module (such as MXML Exchange, DataMart, Market Data, Back office etc.)
- Participates in and in some cases drives design reviews of other modules and provide insightful comments to improve the design quality and design conformance to standards
- Contributes beyond the particular module and to the overall Murex application area.
- Assists the architect in articulating the pros and cons of using a certain technology stack or component versus another to the clients and project team and drives the selection of technologies, and designs to come up with the optimal architecture for Murex setup.
- Implements slice of application (EAR) and proofs of concept (spike solution) to prove any new technologies or integration scenarios in the module
- Evaluates any products or custom controls in and around Murex required for the module
- For package implementations, perform the gap analysis between business requirements and the package features and design the configuration, customizations, extensions, and interfaces required to meet the requirements
- Drives the performance tuning, re-design, and re-factoring for a module.
- Provides innovative solutions to project-level technical issues
- Contributes to designing and implementing the build, and release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the application.
- Critique a design created by another designer and help identify design and performance improvements
