Role Purpose
The Specialist Billing is responsible for overseeing and managing the billing processes within the organization. This role involves analyzing billing data, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of invoices, and resolving billing-related issues. The Specialist Billing works closely with internal departments, clients, and vendors to facilitate efficient billing operations and support financial integrity.
Key Accountabilities
Billing Process Management:
- Manage end-to-end billing processes, including invoice generation, verification, and distribution.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Review billing data and identify discrepancies or errors for resolution.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, operations, and customer service, to gather necessary billing information and resolve issues.
- Implement and maintain effective controls to minimize billing errors and discrepancies.
Invoice Generation and Verification: •
- Generate invoices based on approved sales orders, contracts, or service agreements. •
- Verify the accuracy of billing data, including pricing, quantities, discounts, and tax calculations. •
- Validate invoice details against supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies. •
- Address billing inquiries and concerns from clients, providing accurate and timely responses. •
- Coordinate with the accounts receivable team to ensure proper recording and reconciliation of invoices.
Billing Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze billing data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Prepare regular reports on billing performance, including key metrics and variances.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on billing analysis to support financial decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of billing-related policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support financial audits by providing accurate billing records and documentation.
