Job Description

The Finance Controllership Team provides financial control and accounting support to LSEG globally. Financial Controllers are responsible for the delivering of high-quality management reporting and controllership to the Business units within the Organization.The main responsibilities of this role will be to support FinCon Data & Analytics team by overseeing the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting of the Trading and Banking regulated business. This role prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators and analysing financial information of our Broker Dealer entities. The Senior Accountant will interact with various stakeholders of the FinCon organization and the global finance team. The role focuses on core accounting skills, regulatory and compliance filing, understanding of trading & banking regulated business unit and working across different business divisions/entities in order to support the whole organisation.Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesManage the monthly close activities for the areas in scope which includes reviewing, analysing, and ensuring accuracy of numbers reported and adherence to group reporting policies and deadlines.Build and maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of the businesses and processes to enable delivery of meaningful financial packages information to Financial Controllers and key stakeholdersProduction of key supporting schedules for significant costs with the areas supported.Preparation of monthly & quarterly regulatory filing for the entities in scope, responsible for the end-to-end financial annual audited accountsRegulatory, compliance and audit engagement of our regulatory segmentsIdentify opportunities for a more robust control environment to mitigate key risks. Works with Finance, Compliance, Business stakeholders to deliver outcomes they own by providing corresponding accounting reporting and financial control support and enablement activities.Timely audit responses.Ad hoc projectsTechnical/Professional Skills & CompetenciesChartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant, CIMA, degree or equivalent in Finance with hands on experience in IFRS based accountingAt least 8+ years of prior experience in Big4 or MNC preferably from Broker Dealer regulated industryStrong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skillsKnowledge of Trading and Banking segment and regulated entities with monthly regulatory filing across the USA, UK, and HK regionExperience of working with systems : SAP, Oracle, Pyramid, Hyperion, HFM an added advantageKnowledge of financial accounting standards (IFRS), best practice controls and practical applicationAbility to work independently and as a team, adapt to change and multi-task in a dynamic and multi-cultural environmentSelf-motivated and able to work under time pressure with accuracy and commitmentFlexibility to work per UK hoursLSEG is a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.
