Senior Accountant

The opportunity
Unity’s Accounting team is looking to hire a Senior Accountant who will be an integral part of our team. This role will have an immediate impact on our month-end close process as well as strengthening our overall accounting processes within the organization. The candidate should have general accounting knowledge and experience in some of the following areas: intercompany, treasury, Cash & Bank and Investment accounting among other topics.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bangalore office. This position Shift timings will be evening hours from 2 PM to 11 PM (IST), with a 1-hour lunch break included.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP
• Perform monthly P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis - Support management with company financial activities such as month, quarter and year end close
• Intercompany Transactions: Process and reconcile intercompany transactions, including invoicing, accounting. Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Performing the accounting processes related to various investment instruments, including convertible debt, money market funds, treasury instruments, and business combinations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards.
• Reporting and Financial Statements: Assist with monthly reporting flux analysis, and assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and SEC supporting deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Close Process and Journal Entries: Conduct timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, and prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Strong Knowledge of accounting processes related to various investment instruments, including convertible debt, money market funds, treasury instruments, and business combinations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards.
• Intercompany Transactions & Reconciliation: Process and reconcile intercompany transactions, including invoicing, payments, and allocations. Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Having Strong Knowledge of Intercompany accounting Process is a must.
• Accounting Issues and Process Improvements: Research and analyze complex accounting issues, provide recommendations to management for proper accounting treatment and potential impact on financial forecasts, and develop and implement process improvements, work on automation initiatives, and document standard operating procedures.

• Adaptability and Proactivity: Adept at handling shifting priorities, meeting deadlines, and proactive with an eagerness to learn and try new things.
• Teamwork: Ability to work with team members spread across different geographies.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Workday Financials and, knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level, and familiarity with BI tools such as Alteryx.
• Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
