About the Securities Lending Group at SSGA
Securities Lending is an important financial tool to generate additional financial returns for our clients. With intimate knowledge of financial markets and regulatory requirements, the Securities Lending Group specializes in leveraging this tool to improve returns on the $1 Trillion of assets our clients have entrusted to us. We focus on designing and managing a program that reflects innovation, carefully considers risk, and complies with regulations in markets around the globe, to optimize the risk-return tradeoff for our clients. Additionally, we are charged with managing the execution of the program, evaluating and communicating performance and risk exposures to our stakeholders. We are also charged with helping stakeholders understand how and why we have designed and executed the program in the manner SSGA has chosen. About Your Role
The Securities Lending Analyst is a key part of the Securities Lending Group at SSGA, and works with various groups across the firm and around the world to develop, execute, evaluate, monitor, and communicate the program strategy. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of financial markets, risk management, performance evaluation, model development as an analysis and decision-making tool, financial regulatory structures, and securities lending practices globally. The Securities Lending Group works closely together as a small, cohesive team, with team members around the globe in a flat organizational structure that allows your critical contributions to be recognized and valued. Your work will also require frequent interaction with all aspects of the SSGA investment management organization as well as various service providers to our product.

The primary function of the role is to develop, enhance, and execute a regimen to measure risk-adjusted performance for the securities lending program.

The role will be charged with increasing the transparency of SSGA’s securities lending program to both internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management.

In the role you will compile and analyze information from various sources to synthesize relevant information on the program’s performance and risk.
•
You will be responsible for ensuring the program operates within its defined guidelines, is effectively controlled, and abides by applicable regulations.
•
You will regularly interact with a diverse group of people including portfolio managers, legal counsel, and investment distribution.
Responsibilities Include

Build and improve technological tools and information flows to facilitate research and reporting including database build and maintenance

Maintain and process large sets of data from various internal and external sources to facilitate informed decisions about the performance of our securities lending program

Communicate results of securities lending program to high-level stakeholders, senior committees, and external boards of directors

Coordinate and perform due diligence on key service providers and summarize results for senior management
-
Support creation of marketing materials that leverage performance to drive interest in securities lending products
-
Take on ad hoc research projects related to the improvement of our securities lending program and communicate results to global team
-
Manage daily performance related to securities lending post-settlement activities of operations processes.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made while, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding SSGA, its clients and assets.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Familiarity with data marts and warehouses a plus

Graduation with progress toward professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, etc (completed at least level 1).

Post Graduation (MBA in relevant field) is a plus but not mandatory

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Asset Management / Finance industry

Securities lending experience preferred but not mandatory

The role requires Europe-based work hours with daily communication with members of the team based in North America.
