A Scientist III will lead the development of technology to achieve the goals and plans of the businesses for which they support.Primary duties include:Generating new products using local and imported raw materials, processes or method concepts in Engineering Adhesives that have relevance for India EA businesses and ahead of competition.Planning and leading largescale research and development projects, using project management discipline, to draw conclusions and present solutions based on understanding of structure-property-performance relationships.Meeting research goals within time and budget constraints.Providing technical leadership of projects through the Stage-Gate process.Preparing and presenting reports to customers and business leaders.Participating in global or cross-functional project teams, collaborating across functional and regional boundaries.Supporting operations to facilitate scale-up and efficient production of developed technologies.Fulfilling responsibilities as required by the Quality System for the site/business unit.Working in a safe and efficient manner and following standard quality practices such as 5S, ISO, GMP etc.TRAVELTravel for product customer trials, product scale-up and laboratory meetings will require less than 30 % of their timeEMPLOYEES SUPERVISEDMay supervise one or more technicians or scientists.BUDGETARY/FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITYNoneMinimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 5 years of professional industry experience.ORMasters degree in Chemistry and 3 years of professional industry experienceORPh.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.PlusDemonstrated ability to apply and interpret standard scientific theories, concepts and techniques of adhesive technologies like Epoxy, Polyurethane, Acrylic, Silicone in a scientific or engineering specialty. Demonstrated ability to work on a wide range of problems where causal relationships are difficult to establish, and the use of creative thinking is required.Demonstrated ability to generate new product, process or method concepts within an area of specialty.Demonstrated ability to plan and lead large scale projects using project management and Stage-Gate discipline.Ability to deliver internal and customer presentations in a professional manner.Demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:Responsive to change – Adapts quickly to changing circumstancesIndividually responsible for results – Engages in activities and experiences that strengthen contribution to the organizationModel collaboration and commitment – Focuses on team success before individual successFocus on customers – Creates an experience for customers – delights customers by providing exceptional value and serviceDemonstrates operational excellence – Continually looks for new and better ways to get things done and shows functional/technical proficiency in workDemonstrates effective self management – Seeks to understand and act upon improvement opportunitiesPREFERRED QULAIFICATIONSThe preferred Scientist III candidate would have technical expertise in markets like New Energy, Automotive, Electronics, BTRS, Textile etc. This would include but not be limited to the chemistries of Epoxy, Silicon, Polyurethane, Acrylic and their applications and rheology. The preferred candidate would have a fundamental understanding of the equipment and dynamics used to deliver these products to the end use substrates. The Scientist III will have as a primary objective laboratory development, production scale–up and commercial introduction of new products based on silicone. They will lead and support their team efficiently to fulfill the project target milestones following the company innovation stage gate process. In addition:A demonstrated track record of achievements in product developmentAn intimate knowledge of the manufacturing equipment and requirements to produce Sealants and Adhesives based on silicone.In-depth knowledge of the raw materials used in the development of Silicone Sealants and Adhesives.An expertise in customer application methods and machinery will be an added advantageGood verbal and written communication skills.Fluency in English verbally and in written formPHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTLaboratory and Application center.For additional information on H.B.
