Role - SAP MM Consultant Summary We seek an experienced SAP Materials Management (MM) Consultant with hands-on expertise in implementing, supporting, and optimizing SAP MM modules. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective SAP MM solutions and address client requirements for inventory, procurement, and material flow management. Responsibilities
Perform SAP MM module configuration and customization to align with business needs.
Handle end-to-end implementation projects, including business process mapping, requirements gathering, and solution design.
Set up key MM processes such as procurement, inventory management, invoice verification, and materials valuation.
Work with stakeholders to understand current processes and identify areas for improvement.
Provide solutions to optimize procurement cycles, material availability, and inventory turnover.
Integrate SAP MM with other modules like SD, FI, and PP.
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Provide post-implementation support to address end-user queries and resolve system issues.
Handle configuration changes, resolve tickets, and perform system health checks.
Prepare documentation for troubleshooting, best practices, and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., logistics, finance, production) to ensure seamless process flows.
Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent between 3 to 6 years of experience in a related field.
Exposure to other SAP modules and integration points.
At least one full life-cycle implementation project (from Blueprint/Explore through Go-Live).
Understands SAP Activate Methodology.
Ability to use Service Marketplace to create tickets, research notes, and review release notes.
Expertise in configuring standard Release strategies in MM.
Expertise in P2P cycle in MM.
Should know the standard configuration for new plant creation, storage location, valuation class, and release strategies for PR and PO.
Knowledge of User role maintenance is an added advantage.
Suggest standard or custom solutions for MM process enhancement.
Experience in LSMW and data migration.
Experience in handling issues and changes related to SMARTFORMS for PO and PR.
Experience in standard Workflow and integration with workflow configuration.
Knowledge of Integration with other SAP Modules like FI, PS.
Knowledge about Cost elements- WBS and cost center.
Should have experience in writing Functional Specifications independently and have worked on custom solutions built from Scratch to Deployments.
Should have sound end-to-end testing skills with the preparation of test scripts & results.
Experience in handling/coordinating any issues in standard SAP raised to SAP Support.
Ability to take ownership of change requests from requirement gathering till end-user confirmation.
