As an SAP BTP Integration Architect in PayPal’s SAP Finance team based in Chennai, you will be customer-centric, strategic & analytical in decision making and laser-focused on executing at scale. Your role will involve leveraging your extensive technical expertise and practical experience in SAP BTP framework components like CPI Integration suite, REST API, OData development (SAPUI5, Java, HTML, etc.,) and Automation solutions. Lead substantive discussions with technical and business teams, guiding them through the intricacies of functional definition, architecture, solution implementation, and integration within complex environments. With a proven track record in technical leadership, you'll be instrumental in driving high-quality products and ensuring the successful delivery of projects while effectively leading and mentoring team members.
Meet our team:
We the SAP Finance Technology team at PayPal supports and manages end to end world class SAP finance applications SAP S4CFIN, BW4HANA, BTP, SAC, FPSL Bank Analyzer enabling intelligent decision making in everything we do.
End to End SAP S/4, BW4, BTP Implementation and transformation project started April 2024 planned across the next 2.5 years in 2 releases R1 and R2. Post which the same will be supported by the same team.

Your way to impact 

As a BTP Specialist you will work on diverse portfolio of SAP Application Extension and Integration of S/4HANA using SAP BTP, S/4HANA Conversion, S/4HANA Implementation, and Integration of SAP LOB solutions using SAP Cloud Integration Suite. Our team is working in a challenging environment, on dynamic tasks from Proof of Concepts on new technologies to implementation of large-scale projects

Your day-to-day 

• Provide technical consulting in a high-performing engineering and operations team to build and scale a highly secure, reliable, integrations, end to end automations and solutions

  
  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, application stakeholders, and functional teams to define platform requirements and priorities.  

  
  

• Oversee the end-to-end implementation of Integrations between different source and target environment, develop end to end automation solutions ensuring optimal performance and scalability

  
  

• Hands on expertise in ABAP Cloud, CDS, Odata, Gateway, RESTful ABAP Programming Language, IDOC, Adobe Forms/Fragmented Forms, ABAP OO, BOPF, Workflows, Forms and ATC

  
  

• Minimum two greenfield CPI implementation experience

  
  

• Should be able to understand the functional requirements from the client and appropriately convert them into technical documents.

  
  

• Should have hands-on experience of CPI iFlow modelling, iFlow configuration for pre-delivered and custom iFlows

  
  

• Monitoring debug CPI issues ; manage security credentials, value mappings and various artifacts related to integrations

  
  

• Manage CPI related configuration using SAP BTP cockpit

  
  

• Deep understanding of BTP architecture, BTP services and tools (BAS, BTP Cockpit, etc.)

  
  

• Experience in Developer Extensibility (Embedded Steampunk)

  
  

• Knowledge on open standards like Cloud Foundry

  
  

• Experience with SAPUI5 and/or HTML5 or other Front-end Web Application development frameworks and Full Stack Web IDE

  
  

• Experience with at least some of the following specific technologies: OData, REST, SOAP, IDoc, RFC, FTP/SFTP, JDBC, JMS, Kafka, AMQP, MQTT; CSV, XML, JSON, YAML; Java, XSL, Groovy/JS.

  
  

• Lead the design and architecture of SAP BTP Framework components.

  
  

• Architect scalable integrations, build end to end automations

  
  

• Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices.  

  
  

• Effective communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and alignment driving skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner  

  
  

• Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.  

  
  

What do you need to bring:

• Over all 9 to 12 years experience in of supporting/implementing/migrating various Integration platform tools and developing Automation solutions

  
  

• 1 to 2 implementation/support experience in the SAP BTP components

  
  

• Solid track record of over-achieving engineering and platform delivery and scaling targets in high volume, innovative and fast-paced high-pressure environment; proven results in delivery on platform products.   

  
  

• Strong proficiency in SAP BTP Framework components and technologies, concepts, architecture, and techniques, with hands-on experience in implementations and support.  

  
  

• Familiarity with platform services generally used for technical tasks, like Audit Log, HANA Cloud, Notifications, Cloud Foundry, CI/CD, SAP Business Application Studio, Transport Management, Connectivity.

  
  

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. SAP Activate for BTP and SAP ISA-M knowledge will be a plus.

  
  

• Expertise in SAP BTP Integrations, develop APIs at least 1 implementation

  
  

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in SAP BTP capabilities.  

  
  

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, SAP Enterprise Cloud)

  
  

• Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and alignment driving skills; able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner  

  
  

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire, mentor, and empower team members to achieve their full potential.
