Key responsibilities of an Ariba Sourcing professional might include:
- Supplier identification and qualification:
Identifying new potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities and performance, and qualifying them to be part of the supplier base within the Ariba system. - Sourcing strategy development:
Collaborating with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies for different categories of goods and services, including cost reduction targets and negotiation tactics. - Creating sourcing events:
Utilizing the Ariba platform to launch sourcing events like RFIs (Request for Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposal) to gather supplier bids. - Bid evaluation and analysis:
Assessing supplier proposals, comparing prices and terms, and identifying the most competitive offer based on quality, delivery time, and other relevant factors. - Contract negotiation:
Negotiating contract terms with selected suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. - Supplier performance management:
Monitoring supplier performance against agreed-upon KPIs, addressing performance issues, and managing supplier relationships. - Data analysis and reporting:
Utilizing Ariba reporting tools to analyze sourcing data, identify cost savings opportunities, and generate reports for stakeholders. - System administration:

Required skills for an Ariba Sourcing role:
- Expertise in SAP Ariba:
Deep understanding of the Ariba sourcing module, including features like guided sourcing, auctions, and contract management. - Procurement knowledge:
Strong understanding of procurement principles, including sourcing strategies, contract types, and cost analysis. - Analytical skills:
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on sourcing metrics - Negotiation skills:
