"Ariba Category & Spend Management Consultant" with expertise in the SAP Ariba platform, specializing in the strategic management of procurement categories and overall company spending, utilizing data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, develop sourcing strategies, and implement optimized procurement processes within the Ariba system. 


Key responsibilities may include:


  • Category Strategy Development:
  • Conduct market analysis to identify key suppliers and market trends within specific procurement categories (e.g., IT hardware, office supplies, professional services). 
  • Develop category sourcing strategies, including cost reduction targets, supplier selection criteria, and contract terms. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand their procurement needs and align category strategies accordingly. 
  • Spend Analysis and Reporting:
  • Utilize Ariba analytics tools to analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and highlight areas for improvement. 
  • Generate insightful reports on supplier performance, contract compliance, and category spend trends. 
  • Sourcing and Contract Management:
  • Design and execute sourcing events (RFIs, RFPs) on the Ariba platform to identify potential suppliers and negotiate favorable contract terms. 
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and contract compliance. 
  • Implement contract management processes within Ariba to ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms. 
  • Ariba System Configuration and Implementation:
  • Configure Ariba modules related to category management, including supplier catalogs, sourcing workflows, and approval processes. 
  • Train users on Ariba functionalities and best practices for efficient procurement. 
  • Provide technical support for system issues and updates. 
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, finance, operations) to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and goals. 
  • Communicate category management initiatives and progress to key stakeholders. 

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Deep understanding of procurement processes and category management principles 
  • Expertise in SAP Ariba platform, including sourcing, contract management, and analytics modules 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to identify spending trends and cost-saving opportunities 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams 
  • Experience in project management and system implementation 
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
