The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.


The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes.  This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

We are looking for a governance professional to set and deliver the vision for analytics and AI governance on AstraZeneca’s new SAP stack.  Our ambition is significant and cannot succeed without digitising and automating our governance.


As the SAP Analytics and AI Governance Lead, you will develop and implement a comprehensive governance framework to ensure responsible use of data and AI technologies across the SAP transformation program. Supported by Data Offices, Privacy Offices and Security Teams, you will lead efforts to define and enforce policies for analytics and AI/ML applications, maintain analytics quality and integrity, and oversee the lifecycle of reporting frameworks and dashboards using tools like Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud and Collibra. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, managing risks associated with AI/ML deployment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in all analytics and AI processes. Additionally, you will work with program stakeholders to align governance practices with business objectives, monitor AI/ML models for performance and bias, and drive continuous improvement by staying abreast of emerging trends in analytics, AI, and SAP technologies.


Essential skills, knowledge and experience:


  • Knowledge of one or more of: analytics governance, AI/ML governance, data governance,


  • Experience digitising and automating processes for one or more of the following: analytics governance, AI/ML governance, data governance,


  • Stakeholder engagement skills,


  • Process design and documentation.


Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:


  • Team leadership and building teams,


  • Managing outsourced service providers,


  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GxP, GPDR, SOX),


  • Knowledge of SAP ecosystems, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere and Collibra,


  • Knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning frameworks, and their practical applications,


  • Process digitisation and automation,


  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing industries,


  • Knowledge of Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
