A Day in the LifeTo achieve territory growth targets for Hernia therapies in Hospitals & referral centers and educating the Nursers and support groups.
To execute strategic sales activities undertaken as part of a Business Planning model.
Provide surgical coverage, Case support for Hernia, product and therapy training and education to new and existing centers and leverage customer contact to grow the existing business/accounts.
To ensure that the Company’s agreed quality standards are maintained about its products, procedures, policies, operations and customer contact.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Revenue Responsibility
  • Responsible for achieving sales target in terms of product units and revenue and increase total company market share in assigned territory.
  • Support in creating and implementing an annual business plan with quarterly updates.
  • Ensure coverage of all accounts based on customer segmentation within territory in agreement with the manager to maintain optimum level of exposure.
  • Maintain and expand existing business and develop new business opportunities.
  • Business Management
  • Seek new customers and formulate and follow up plans for such action as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • Work with existing key centers to develop and implement strategies to move accounts towards center of excellence for Hernia Solutions.
  • Develop Sales strategies and execute same within the Sales Force Effectiveness model.
  • Conduct required training for new accounts on all therapies.
  • Sell specified therapies to Surgeons, institutions, payers, and other medical staff.
  • Customer Management
  • Provide Coverage, Case support for Hernia portfolio in the assigned Territory.
  • Conduct customer in-services for new and existing accounts.
  • Develop relationships with Surgeons and hospital administration staff to ensure both clinical and non-clinical needs are identified and met.
  • Develop ethical, positive long-term customer relationships.
  • Satisfy customer complaints in accordance with Medtronic policy and to advise Sales Manager promptly of any situation beyond scope of authority.

May direct the work of other lower level sales professionals or manage sales processes and / or accounts involving multiple team members. The majority of time is spent establishing and maintaining customer relationships, developing new customer relationships, implementing sales strategies and closing sales.DIFFERENTIATING FACTORSAutonomy: Established and productive sales professional managing multiple small to mid-size accounts.
Sells products and/or services to a group of clients and identifies new and potential customers.

Builds relationships.Organizational Impact: Works to achieve individual sales targets within product area and/or account by selling products/ services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts.
Has a direct impact on achieving department’s sales results.
May help to set objectives or goals for individual or team accounts .
Works on larger, moderately complex accounts or have a small or medium-sized quota/territory.
Understands market landscape, marketing and pricing structure, more influence on pricing structures.
Works with sales, marketing and finance to structure complex contracts.Innovation and Complexity: Makes adjustments or recommends enhancements in sales processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
Recommends changes in account tactics to achieve sales goals .
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.Communication and Influence: May influence parties within own job function at an operational level.
Obtains or provides information requiring some explanation or interpretation .
Communicates with external customers and / or vendors, involving negotiation and / or presentations in order to manage relationships and close sales.Leadership and Talent Management: Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
May provide guidance and assistance to entry level sales professionals and / or support employees.Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge gained through experience of sales techniques and job area typically obtained through education combined with sales experience.
Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues .Must Have- Minimum RequirementsB Pharma/B Sc (Any Sciences)/BE• MBA would be preferred• Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.• At least 3- 7 years sales experience in a technical and dynamic environment.• Experience in delivering health related in-service or similar type training and education• Proven sales and negotiations experience• Success in developing new markets• Experience in making multiple sales calls on a daily basis• Willing to travel extensivelyNice to haves:• Good verbal communicator and presenter – Good command over English and Regional language• Professional presentation and "Presence"• Professional standard of written and verbal communication to sales team and customers• Ability to quickly establish credibility with all levels of customer base• People and Relationship building Skills including Networking Skills• Logical approach & reasoning skills while analyzing competition & market trends.• Strong Analytical ability during customer/patient call.• Ability to deal with ambiguity & persevere to resolve situation at hand
