Job Title:                            India Sales Director 


Job Location:              Mumbai


Reporting to: VP Sales & Market Leader, India


Position Summary 


AVEVA is looking to hire a India Sales Director, to be located in any existing AVEVA offices in India. This is a people manager position, leading the India region sales teams of AVEVA, reporting to the India Market Leader. We are looking for an experienced Sales Leader with proven track record of building a high-performing sales team, who has deep experience in building/transformation of sales teams, processes, and team’s culture. Experience of working based on modern sales techniques (preferably MEDDPICC) is critical.    


Principal Responsibilities 


  • Development and execution of the market sales strategy in alignment with global targets, KPIs and metrics 
  • Management of Sales Team (performance, individual development plans and on-the-job coaching)
  • Collaboration with other functions involved into sales process (Legal, Finance, contract admin, services, technical support, presales) 
  • Transformation of the account managers sales approach in accordance with MEDDPICC methodology 
  • Team culture alignment in accordance with AVEVA Values of Impact, Aspiration, Curiosity and Trust 
  • Ensuring the right actions to demonstrate growth in corporate metrics such as subscription, SaaS, TCV, revenue and new logos
  • Planning and executing a consistent growth strategy for India market by capitalizing on the entire spectrum of business potential across the industries AVEVA serves. Ensuring the right balance between long-term, mid-term and short-term focus to drive pipeline build for the long-term and opportunity closure to meet quarterly budgets in the short term
  • Mentoring and coaching of Sales team members to develop their selling skills
  • Champion Sales Enablement activities for specific solution areas partnering with Solution Strategy and Sales Excellence Teams
  • Retaining of existing customer base and expanding AVEVA footprint by developing long term relationships with Executives and key decision makers
  • Engage with strategic partners (business consulting partners and SI’s) to expand reach into large strategic customers
  • Be the face of AVEVA in external events and enhance AVEVA brand recall in the India market
  • Leverage the extended team (R&D, SDC etc) to drive competitive differentiation in India market

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required 


  • A graduate or post graduate in relevant field and at least 15 years’ experience in a sales, account management and/or business development role selling software solutions serving industrial verticals and domains at an end-user level ranging from Oil & Gas, Marine, Mining, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, EPC, Power and Infrastructure
  • Thought leadership. Imaginative and creative, having the conceptual ability to effectively develop new ideas and put them to practice. Clear vision and ability to align and motivate people behind the vision
  • Collaboration and team player skills: able to mobilize people and resources across the organization into cross-functional teams at the right time for strategic and opportunistic pursuits. and to deliver specific projects
  • 5+ years of experience in change management (Implementation of new sales models and techniques, sales culture transformation projects)
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of sales methodologies, preferably MEDDPICC 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to clearly convey strategies, ideas and actions issues across all levels within of the organization and cross-functional teams across different work streams
  • Strong leadership experience in leading a sizable sales organization, and proven track record in developing a team culture that is aligned with company values of Impact, Aspiration, Curiosity and Trust
  • Strong sales management experience in the use of CRM (like Salesforce) and tools to provide clear representation of market status across India, APAC and globally. visibility of sales cadences 
  • Strong communication skills in all forms – written, oral, email, presentation, and have strong English language skills
