The Role


  • To identify the safety engineering scope of work from basis of design.
  • To be able to determine and estimate norms to conduct the scope of work.
  • To be able to raise a suite of project deliverables including procedures, design basis and HSE Plan & Schedules of Activities.
  • Network and inter-discipline departments. Interface management with the client.
  • Active Fire Protection Design
  • Passive Fire Protection Design
  • Conversant with Hazardous Area classification and Fire Proofing
  • Experience of participation in HAZID workshops.
  • Experience of participation in HAZOP, SIL workshops.
  • Fire & Explosion Analysis.
  • Fire Protection related studies.
  • Conducting QRA studies
  • Ability to identify and raise suite of Project Procedures & Deliverables.
  • CTR Management & progress reporting, Estimation of work scopes & CTR.
  • To take ownership of and provide direction to engineers through ability to prepare and author full suite of project safety deliverables.
  • Manage a team of professional and technical people.
  • Act as mentor to graduate, design and project engineers, technicians and technical specialists.
  • Liaise with the local community and other stakeholders on all consulting matters.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Safety & Risk Department
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Safety & Risk Department. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Qualifications And Skills


Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.


  • Assume hands-on management and implementation of all relevant company HSE requirements. Drive Safe and Sustainable engineering outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle via the application of SEAL. Role-model a commitment to personal well-being and a pro-active approach to continuously improving health, safety and environmental performance.
