What you will do
The SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) will have accountability for supporting staff, teams and agile release trains effectively leverage Scaled Agile Framework practices and tools. The SPC is a member of the SAFe Enablement team that is responsible for delivering accelerators across biotechnology product teams, driving a culture of continuous innovation across the enterprise, and enabling effective Agile governance and measurement.
This role involves collaboration with various Amgen product and platform teams to enhance value delivery and productivity. The SPC will participate with the organization’s Communities of Practice to continuously improve standards, processes and automation enablers that accelerate staff and team SAFe maturity and overall business agility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Enablement and Training: provide training and enablement sessions to teams, leaders, and stakeholders. Facilitate workshops and guide organizations in understanding and applying SAFe principles, practices, and processes effectively.
- Coaching and Mentoring: coach and mentor Agile teams and leaders on SAFe implementation. Provide guidance on Agile practices, events, and help teams and leaders refine their understanding and application of SAFe.
- Transformation Planning and Execution: Participate in planning and executing SAFe transformations within organizations. Assess current states of Agile maturity, identify areas for improvement, and guide the organization in aligning with SAFe principles and practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. As a member of a SAFe enablement team, develop accelerators that help staff and team with SAFe maturity, establish effective Agile decision-making processes, promote the use of Agile metrics and measurement, and drive organizational change towards a more Agile and Lean mindset.
- Change Agent: Act as a change agent, promoting the benefits of SAFe and driving organizational transformation. They collaborate with teams, leaders, and stakeholders to create a shared understanding of SAFe and its value, and help overcome resistance to change.

Basic Qualifications:- Deep knowledge and expertise in SAFe. Combine technical knowledge of SAFe with a motivation to improve software, systems, and Agile business processes.
- Jira experience
- SAFe training experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Jira Align experience
- Miro experience
- Workshop facilitation experience
Education and Professional Certifications- Master’s degree and 8 to 10 years of experience with SAFe, software, systems, and Agile business processes OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 to 14 years of experience with SAFe, software, systems, and Agile business processes OR
- Diploma and 14 to 18 years of experience with SAFe, software, systems, and Agile business processes OR
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification - preferred
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and gap/fit assessment skills.
