Research Analyst, Residential Research & Analysis (Global Capital Markets Analyst Pool – UK Residential Sales Market Focused)

We are looking for a Research Analyst to join the JLL Research team as part of the JBS Research & Analysis team for Capital Markets

The Research Analyst will be part of a growing team of capital market researchers, focusing specifically on the UK housing market, who will monitor London and regional UK city residential real estate markets. The Capital Markets Research Analyst will contribute to best-in-class research that differentiates JLL and provides a competitive advantage in the marketplace.


The UK Residential business at JLL focuses on new home development sales in the UK’s largest cities as well as the sale of second-hand luxury homes, predominantly in the most exclusive neighbourhoods of London. The team also focuses on letting homes across the London and key UK cities on behalf of JLL’s buy-to-let client base.


The Research Analyst will leverage proprietary JLL data and source, update and validate third party data relevant to supporting the UK residential business. The role will require strong data and analysis skills, and a good understanding of the UK housing market, economy and geography. The successful candidate will become a valued member of the UK Residential Research team supporting the team’s objectives depending on need and capacity.


What this job involves:


  • Interest in housing real estate with a strong commitment to learning UK micro and macro level market dynamics.
  • Source and update, validate, analyse, and visualize data, including data related to UK house prices, rents, new home supply and demographic drivers of housing demand.
  • Strong written English skills to support the production of market updates, thought leadership and research-led sales brochures to support the launch of new residential developments.
  • Leveraging proprietary JLL data and third-party data sources, producing standard Research deliverables including monthly/quarterly market Insights, market overview PowerPoint decks, and short/medium/long form reports as requested by clients and internal JLL residential business partners.

Essential:


  • Interest in real estate with a strong commitment to learning micro and macro level market dynamics, with a particular interest in investment trends and capital markets.
  • Organized, methodical and proactive, with strong ability to multitask, be resilient and effectively manage time and workload independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate and interpret data.
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to both work independently and as part of a dynamic matrixed organization.
  • 1-2 years professional experience can be in economics, consulting, real estate, economic development, urban planning, or other related fields.
  • Strong quantitative skillset, including Excel skills, with ability to identify new insights and trends through data analytics.
  • Experience working with information systems, data, and reporting.
  • Good command of Microsoft office tools (excel, PowerPoint etc).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Desirable:


  • Experience with data visualization tools and platforms.
  • Experience in commercial real estate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Economics, Urban planning, Geography, Social Science, or a related discipline.
  • Existing knowledge of information research tools.
