Job Title: Head of Department – Physics (IBDP/A Levels/APs)

Salary : 18 - 24 LPA
Job Description :
As the Head of Department for Physics you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction and success of our Physics tutoring program. You will lead a team of dedicated Physics tutors, ensuring that they deliver high-quality instruction and support to students of varying levels and abilities. Your expertise in Physics (Science) education, leadership skills, and passion for teaching will drive the department's growth and contribute to the overall success of our students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the academic leadership team to develop and refine the Physics curriculum, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and assessments (IBDP, A Levels etc.).
2. Instructional Leadership: Provide guidance and support to Physics tutors, including lesson planning, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. Model effective teaching methods and promote best practices in Physics (Science) education.
3. Teacher Training and Development: Coordinate professional development opportunities for Physics tutors, including workshops, seminars, and peer observations. Mentor new tutors and provide ongoing support and feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness.
4. Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee the tracking of student progress and performance in Physics, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions as needed.
5. Parent and Stakeholder Communication: Regularly Communicate with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress, program updates, and upcoming events. Foster a positive and collaborative relationship with the community.
6. Resource Management: Manage departmental resources effectively, including instructional materials, technology tools, and learning resources. Identify resource needs and make recommendations for procurement or development.
7. Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and consistency of Physics instruction across all classes and programs. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to monitor program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
8. Active Teaching: Be a part of the Frontline action and actively teach a set of students enrolled.
Qualifications
• B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in sciences from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid Teaching certification(preferred).
• Minimum of 08+ years of teaching experience in the relevant subject areas in Experience of teaching with the International Baccalaureate (IB) and IGCSE, with demonstrated expertise in the subject area.
• Previous leadership experience in an educational setting (Team lead, head etc.)
• Strong organizational. communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents
• Proficiency in educational technology tools.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in Physics education
• knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability and willingness to teach online and/or in a hybrid context as necessary
