Job Title: Reliability Engineer
Job Summary: The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and maintainability of systems, equipment, and processes within the organization. This role involves analyzing failure modes, implementing preventive measures, and optimizing maintenance strategies to enhance overall operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement reliability strategies and programs to improve equipment and system performance
Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure points and their impacts
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and process disruptions
Develop and maintain reliability models and metrics to track and report on system performance
Design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product and process designs for enhanced reliability
Analyze maintenance data and equipment history to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize maintenance strategies
Develop and maintain documentation for reliability processes, procedures, and best practices
Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams
Conduct reliability training sessions for relevant staff members
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in reliability engineering
Participate in new equipment selection and installation processes to ensure reliability standards are met
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reliability and equipment performance
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to address reliability issues and improve component quality
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field); Master's degree preferred
5+ years of experience in reliability engineering or related field
Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools
Experience with reliability analysis techniques such as FMEA, RCA, and RCM
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling
Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and condition monitoring systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience with reliability software tools (e.g., Relyence, Isograph, Minitab)
Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 55000, SAE JA1011)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments
Strong project management skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Relevant certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) are a plus
Experience in the specific industry of the hiring organization is beneficial
