You will report directly to me and become part of the Svitzer’s Procurement Team, and your peers and close co-workers are Operations colleagues in the AMEA Region.
This role is located in Mumbai, India. We work flexibly, not because there is a policy telling us to, but because it just makes good business and work/life sense and creates an engaging work environment.
The overall responsibility of this role aims to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of goods and services (incl non-technical) for Svitzer AMEA. In addition, to proactively and independently improve and develop the Svitzer AMEA Purchase to Pay (P2P) process. This includes, but is not limited to, the P2P process optimization, vendor relationship management, effective operational critical spares planning as well as general cost and supply optimization of all aspects of Svitzer AMEA operations.
The governing guidelines to drive the Svitzer AMEA Procurement activities should be the Group Procurement guidelines in dialogue and understanding with Group Procurement representatives. Global as well as Regional Frame agreement are to be managed and upheld while an in-depth knowledge of Svitzer's Planned Maintenance System (PMS) need to be developed.
Develop, monitor and update SVITZER’s contracting and procurement systems and processes
Optimize and uphold the AMEA procurement process (P2P) through dialogue with local AMEA operations and in alignment with Svitzer Procurement Manual
Ensure that the procurement system (IT platform) performs as per the P2P process and that the approval process is aligned with the authorization matrix
Support and drive local spend awareness and P2P compliance using Scorecards and Procurement KPIs to monitor trends and build stats and baselines
Answer to and support Group Procurement on Game plans and savings for Strategic Projects
Strive towards full compliance with Svitzer Responsible Procurement program and supplier evaluation
Ensure Procurement activities support the delivery of SVITZER’s strategic objectives
Run regional and larger local sourcing’s, negotiating agreements for all large or recurrent purchases
Drive purchasing and supply chain for implementation of new projects to deliver fit for purpose vessels
Ensure that all considered Dry-docking Shipyards are compliant while keeping focus on timely and cost-effective purchasing as well as yard negotiations and discounts
Support AMEA Business Development from a Docking and M&R perspective in remote and developing operations
Assist as necessary with special projects, audit, training and coverage for absence or as otherwise directed.
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline.
Minimum 10 – 15 years of extensive experience in Procurement and Purchasing, ideally in the Marine Industry
Experience with Procurement (Vendor Management) and Purchasing
Previous experience with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS)
Fluency in both oral and written English
Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Strong communicator, good negotiating and solid presentation skills
Resilient, pro-active, self-starter
Decision maker, takes ownership and prioritizes
Generalist with a keen sense of learning and interest in adopting new skills.
Work well under pressure and retain sense of humour.
