- Position Title: Regional Freight Service Leader – India.Location: Gurgaon, Other major cities will be considered
- Responsible for leading the Global Freight Services strategy and execution for the India Loco Project to deliver on team safety requirements, build a culture of success, exceed customer expectations & financial targets while building a world-class services team.
- Continue to expand and operationalize Locomotive Maintenance Shed capabilities to meet contractual milestones & obligations and make it world class in operations through high standards of, Safety, Productivity & Best Loco Maintenance practices.
- Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance to various functional teams including shop operations, maintenance, service supply chain, fleet operations & contract management, Functions, Fleet Program and Reman with strong focus on collaborations across all functional areas.
- The role will provide input on new deals and projects that we will work on the freight vertical segment in India. The role will participate to expand the go to market service strategy in newer areas and expanding beyond the current operations.
- The Services Business is at a critical phase with Major Locomotive overhaul programs and new facilities are ongoing, hence the technical competency to understand the complexity and maturity to manage an experienced team will be critical factors. The role demand travel at the services sites as well as customer location.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the current Operations across sites driving alignment of all functions in the team which includes shop operations, maintenance, service supply chain, fleet operations & contract management, Functions, Fleet Program, Reman and work closely with the enabler function HR, Finance, IT, Sourcing, Supplier Quality, Engineering etc.
- Creating a regional services strategy aligned to broader business goals and translating it to an execution roadmap for growth & profitability
- Managing P&L operations across all the functional areas to deliver on business financial commitments including orders, revenue, op profit & cash
- Building & operationalizing a greenfield Maintenance Shed for diesel locomotives to meet operational needs & contractual requirements
- Meeting contractual milestones/KPIs for a large & complex contract with a government customer
- Driving operating rigor across shop operations, remanufacturing facilities, contract management, fleet operations & service supply chain to deliver on business metrics. The Services Business is at a critical phase with major overhaul programs, fleet improvements and new deals kicking off.
- Implementing strong cost control measures & managing budgets aligned to quarterly/yearly financial plans
- Developing local re manufacturing capability, driving sourcing localization & building world-class materials & fulfillment operations
- Engaging with senior level customer stakeholders to build relationships for smooth contract execution & platform for commercial growth
- Instilling a culture of Safety, Quality & Compliance across all sites & operations
Required Qualifications:
- 20+ years’ experience in Business Operations, Services or P&L Management, preferably in a global company.
Should have led large teams at multiple remote locations with varied customers. . The locomotive fleet is expandable up to 1000 locomotive. - Strong business knowledge of rolling stock & similar industries with the ability and clarity of thought to develop & execute business strategy and operating plans
- Demonstrated leadership in managing growth/change in a global & matrixed environment
- Ability to build & inspire high performance teams across multiple functional areas
- Good understanding of financials of a business/operating unit & various levers of performance
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders both internal and external.

MBA, Experience with large & complex customer contracts Commercial/sales experience with government customers P&L Management experience
