Role Description (Primary functions & responsibilities):

Position:             Regional Application Manager – South-II


Reporting to:     National Application Manager


Works with        Sales, Service and Customer Support team, Regulatory/Quality team, Technical Excellence Center.


Reportees:          7-member team


Role Summary:


The Regional Application Manager will be responsible for client engagement, business partnerships, and team management for a diverse region that stretches from the state of Chennai, Kerala, and nearby territories. This is an operationally heavy role with hands-on management within the territory and the ability to leverage experts to solve problems or plan for business support from across other regions.


Specific Responsibilities that you would own:


Client Engagement:


  • Ensure On-time Applications support across all modalities within the region
  • Responsible for self and direct clients as well as team and all clients within the region
  • Ensure team is focused on conducting PEP (product education program) and other educational activities at all S and A clients, to engage and improve retention. Regularly visit Key accounts, gather ‘Voice of Customer’ and report back to the Functional leadership team in order to enhance our ability to shape customer experiences and strategies

Business Partnership:


  • Engage team, key customers and experts to generate appropriate field data, application notes and publications to support work being done by the product marketing team to highlight product benefits and helps differentiate Beckman products from others in the market.
  • Work on Menu Expansion projects and charters based on business needs within the region, in close collaboration with the National Applications Head and Regional Business Manager
  • Collaborate with the field service team in resolving critical client problems and Support Sales team with Pre-sales presentations and product demonstrations.

Team Management:


  • Responsible for recruiting and retention on the field team, ensuring minimal disruption to the business because of vacancies on the team
  • Manage daily work of frontline associates, supervise the completion of KPI; Find problems in timely manner, provide professional technical support and solutions, avoid complaints. Ensure team follows the laid process for call logging and call closures, expense reporting,
  • Support the Regional Business Manager in functional priorities within the region and managing distributor applications staff, where applicable.

Technical Expertise and Networking


  • Develop key relationships with Application Specialist team and other Regional Managers to ensure alignment on priorities, best practice sharing and achievement of operational goals. Contribute to assigned Cross functional projects: Audits, Training Documentation revision, etc.
  • Poses technical specialty in some product lines and able to instructs other Applications Associate’s work.  Able to complete complicated application calls and service assignments

Qualification and Experience:


  • Graduate or Post-Graduate in Science or Medical Lab Technology
  • Prior experience in Diagnostics, working in or with a filed force team. Minimum 8 years’ experience is necessary, with at least 3 or more years of team management or mentoring experience.
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with the different stakeholders including end-users, customers.
  • Highly agile and flexible as extensive travel required.
  • Knowledge of the local market
