Overview This role involves supporting the Regulatory Affairs team by serving as a Discipline Approver, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for raw material specifications. Located within the Mexico Business Services or Hyderabad Business Services, you will play a key part in maintaining adherence to regulations within the designated business unit, contributing to the overall integrity and quality of our products. Responsibilities Functional Responsibilities Ensure regulatory compliance of raw material specifications (existing and new) for all parameters under regulatory affairs responsibility within the European Union and other jurisdictions as required. Interpret and apply EU Regulatory requirements together with any relevant country specific regulatory requirements or regional guidance. (eg Codex) Learn and apply new PepsiCo Standards and Regulations to Specification Management Ensure all raw material specifications adhere to the PepsiCo Global Ingredient Standards Ensure consistency of regulatory parameters across raw material specifications and drive specification harmonization for the regulatory function. Capture regulatory changes in a harmonized way to ensure future regulatory compliance. Learn, verify and optimize data capture of specifications within SAP S/4 Hana to ensure current and future IT systems provide visible and accessible raw material specifications regulatory data within SAP S/4 Hana. Identify potential areas for specifications improvements and make recommendations to the Regulatory Team and R&D GCC Leadership for continuous improvement. Facilitate efficiency and accuracy of role responsibilities by maintaining and fostering relationships with the Europe Regulatory Affairs Team, Specification Writers in Europe and GBS (SW), R&D Project Managers, Product Development (PD), Food Safety (FS), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Quality Assurance (QA), Procurement (GP), Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), Packaging Development Engineers, Adopt and Sustain (A&S), and external suppliers Ensure all requests are processed, documented, and delivered within relevant defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements) Support Regulatory Change Management (RCM) to ensure specifications are updated as required when regulations are updated which impact ingredient specifications, and provide support with impact assessments to identify specifications affected by new and upcoming regulatory changes Qualifications Professional work experience (>4yrs) gained in Food Regulatory Affairs or Food Safety-related roles Bachelor’s Degree in Food science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience required. Ideally proficient in interpreting and assessing regulatory and technical information. Learning agility, self-motivation and desire for continuous self-improvement. Team player and works well with cross-functional, cross-regional and cross-cultural teams. Can work independently and has initiative for problem solving. Excellent attention to detail and ability to easily identify changes, omissions, errors or outdated information Self-starter, self-motivating. Previous experience in handling relationships with suppliers is preferable. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to rapidly learn computer applications/programs & navigate systems eg SAP Effective communication skills, both verbal (i.e., presentation, conference calls) and written (i.e., reports, e-mails) in English (90% Fluency, verbal and written in English) Collaborative skills and strong interest in working with others across time zones; Ability to build relationships and work closely with both internal and external partners. Ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities with and a high degree of organizational skills to ensure requests are delivered in a timely manner.
