Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification.  The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries.
In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.


Mission Statement:


Identification, exploration and implementation of technology / product development and growth strategies to enhance and secure global positioning. Ensure project execution, foster innovation and develop and secure R&D capabilities in the business for profitability. Devising research methods, focus on future technical direction, future scenarios in transforming technology landscape. Preparing technical specifications and specifying laboratory test equipment and processes. Making recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials within budgets and targets set. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. Coordinating pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes. A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Develop software modules of Highest Quality, On-Time & Efficiently and maintain it continuously, with enhancements, bug fixes etc., for MACH Control System


  • Bench Testing / Unit testing for the modules developed / modified.


  • Follow the defined processes, throughout the development phases, in full.


  • Collaborate with teams globally, for development and with customers, both Internal & external, professionally.


  • Support & work together with the team, for the developments & future support.


  • Contribute towards continuous improvements, for the products & solutions under development, processes, etc.

Your Background:


  • Graduate or master’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics)


  • More than 5 years of proven experience in embedded software development, with exposure to the complete software development life cycle


  • Very good understanding and hands-on development of embedded technologies - digital signal processing, real time operating systems and/or multi-core systems.


  • Excellent programming capabilities in C, C++


  • Solid knowledge & hands on experience working with Linux.


  • Debugging complex multi-threaded and event-based applications.


  • Very good technical documentation skills


  • Very good understanding & working with Agile / scrum process. (SAFe is an added advantage).


  • Very good understanding & working with GIT repository.


  • Experience working with virtualization technologies – Hypervisors, Containers


  • Working knowledge in scripting languages like Python, shell etc.


  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
