Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a R&D Engineer - Product development - Bushings for the Transformers Business to join their team in Bushing R&D, TC India, Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.

Mission Statement:


Product development engineer generates novel product ideas and uses creative skills to identify challenges that a new product can solve. Product development engineer works closely with design, engineering, and production teams to minimize manufacturing issues, to optimize processes, and to ensure cost competitiveness of the product.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Conceptualizing new ideas for OIP and RIP bushings developments


  • Fabricating prototypes for OIP and RIP bushings testing


  • Sampling different materials, production processes, design tolerances for bushing manufacturing


  • Provide technical support during outturn sample specification and qualification


  • Assisting supplier communication, visits, and audits along with SCM and procurement specialists


  • Implement design and process FMEA during bushing design and manufacturing


  • Troubleshoot any potential problems during type testing of bushings for product qualification


  • Provide technical support in statistical analysis and root cause analysis of bushings

Your Background:


  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering


  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering or quality or testing


  • Knowledge of bushing manufacturing, production processes, and assembly instructions


  • Knowledge of bushing routine and type test requirements according to global standards


  • Knowledge of measurement tools and techniques, jigs and fixtures, quality controls etc.


  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required
