Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involve liaising with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Contract Handling: Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
- Risk Assessment: Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work; identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
- Value Engineering: Perform risk, value management, and cost control during construction.
- Claims Management: Advise on and mitigate the effects of disputes; recognize potential contractual issues on site and make recommendations to protect the company’s interests.
- Reporting: Keep track of changes to the construction project and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Procurement: Ensure that all aspects of the construction project are compliant with insurance, legal, safety, and environmental standards.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accreditation is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction industry.
