Role Summary / Purpose


The QTA will demonstrate ‘’Hands-on Experience’’ through driving exceptional Product quality, Customer value beyond expectations, Process Assurance, Quality Control with Optimized Cost of Quality. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to meet world class Quality expectations and help solving problems during Assembly and Testing. Role will require to have the ability to determine and take decision on the problem at shop floor considering short-term & long-term impact keeping customer at foresight.


The Role requires for developing knowledge base and leading Quality control and Quality Assurance to achieve the goals on the In Process DPU, Process Adherence and CoPQ. The role requires close interaction with Operations, ME, SQE and Materials Team for problem solving and meet Quality requirements.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Shall be able to Drive and Lead exception Quality in Locomotive Assembly Area
  • Shall be responsible for the ‘Quality’ of the Manufacturing Assembly Work, Problem Solving, In-process defects optimization and Process compliance
  • Shall have exposure and expertise into Fastening, Tightening, Torquing, Cable Routing, Crimping, Sealant Application
  • Should be able to drive structured RCA and CAPA for continuous improvement.
  • Should be Pro-active and Prompt to improve Product & Process Quality with the approach of Quality Assurance and Quality Control
  • Shall be able to work cross functionally with Operations, ME, SQE etc. to meet & drive Quality requirements.
  • Should be able to work on system like Reliance, Oracle, MES for NCMR Creation and timely follow up with stakeholders for disposition, rework, and RCA/CA
  • Should record and track internal quality escape defects and drive for permanent closure.
  • Shall be able to drive PPAP and it’s requirements thoroughly including MIP, Control Plan, MSA, GR&R and SPC for the product line
  • Drive towards vision of ‘Zero’ escape defects within up-stream supply chain/manufacturing.
  • Prepare/review ‘Detection plan’ for incoming, in process and finished goods
  • Follow and adhere to EHS and compliance process

Qualifications / Requirements


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 -12 years of experience in Assembly of Rolling Stock or Heavy Equipment industry
  • Good background in the interpretation of Engineering drawings / Specifications & Manufacturing processes
  • Excellent knowledge of Assembly Process & 7QC Tools
  • Exposure of New Product Introduction, PPAP and APQP
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive internal/external Customer Quality requirements
