The Quality Senior Supervisor is responsible for ensuring defect-free incoming parts and maintaining in-house process quality by implementing and managing robust quality management systems. This role is essential in delivering high-quality products to customers and driving continuous improvement across supplier and internal processes at nVent.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Lead the supplier approval process, assessing manufacturing standards, technology capabilities, and addressing Health, Safety, and Environmental risks (e.g., ROHS, REACH, WEEE).
- Facilitate supplier quality audits and risk assessments to maintain high compliance standards.
- In-process inspection and Report Management:
- Review incoming quality inspection, Material Review Board (MRB), in-process, and Outgoing Inspections (OBA) reports.
- Take corrective actions as necessary based on findings.
- Manage and mentor assigned Quality Engineers and staff, reviewing their performance and fostering continuous improvement.
- Address internal and external quality concerns effectively.
- Ensure the successful achievement of objectives assigned by the Quality Manager and nVent Management.
- Monitor Supplier Quality (SQ) and Process Quality (PQ) performance metrics.
- Identify weaknesses and recommend actionable improvements.
- Facilitate root cause analysis for supplier and in-house quality issues.
- Validate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and internal 8D/CARs and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing and Finance teams to impose COPQ on suppliers for major issues.
- Promote customer-preferred continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizens, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Deliver quality awareness training and support process improvement initiatives for suppliers and internal teams.
- Conduct risk assessments for departmental processes and tasks to ensure compliance and safety.
- New Product Launch Support :
- Ensure supplier quality aligns with required standards during new product launches.
- Test and validate new development samples from suppliers.
- Work with Engineering teams to define and validate process parameters, ensuring supplier process capabilities meet product requirements.
You have:
- Academic background in Bachelor of Engineering (BE / B. Tech) in in Electrical / Electronics / E&TE / Mechanical
- Previous experience of 10 or more years of work experience in manufacturing areas Supplier quality, Manufacturing Quality & NPD Quality
- Knowledge / Certification of ISO Lead Auditor, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA. 6 Sigma, IPC610 & IPC/WHMA-A-620 Training/Certification are as an added advantage
- Expertise in driving improvement through problem-solving methodologies (8D, Kaizen, A3, Lean, 6 Sigma).
