Department
You will be part of Manufacturing Operation-India , Global Supply Chain, Cement who supports Capital and Service Product line for Order Management. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges. This department works closely with both our internal and external customers to ensure FLSmidth equipment’s on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting up and monitoring the QA – QC management system ensuring pro-active quality support to the assigned QA activities / project activities to meet Client and quality requirements.
- All the QA related process of training the people for quality work, SOPs for work, Systems for RIGHT FIRST TIME quality to be developed, impart training, and then demand and monitoring the compliance of processes.
- Arranging on time inspection of product manufacturing inhouse & at supplier place.
- Providing technical support of the team & ensure that team members skill metric meeting with their role.
- Strong cooperation with sales, engineering and Manufacturing team and to ensure conformance of agreed quality requirements.
- Single point of contact concerning project quality aspects.
- Carry out quality planning functions, assuring that supplier procedures, product, and data will comply with applicable specifications and customer expectations. Creates project related requirement specifications
- Leading/performing/organizing quality audits/assessments of suppliers based on FLSmidth standards
- Evaluate inspection reports and assist in the development of remedial action plans to ensure conformance to specifications and standards.
- Interpret and analyze supplier data and assist other departments (i.e. Engineering) in determining impact to quality.
- Provide training on TPM, Kaizen, ‘5S’, SGA (Small Group Activity), Quality Circle, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001.
- Interface with various internal and external personnel to investigate causes of non-conformances, minimize cost of quality, and strive for continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
• Ensures and plans for evaluation on a quantitative and qualitative basis in order to secure human and mechanical capability
• Reviews and approves processes for inspection of inbound material to ensure that quality standards are met
• Performs or oversees adequate inspection at FLSmidth's suppliers to ensure that quality standards are met
• Provides prompt effective assistance to all internal departments where knowledge of manufacturing and inspection is needed
• Supervises during manufacturing so they understand specifications and in order to avoid problems during production
• Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities
What you bring
- Strong leadership presence and passion for leading quality teams and implementing processes across the Manufacturing units.
- Mechanical or Production Engineer by qualification with 10-15 years and above experience.
- Conversant with ASME and other relevant EN, AWS & IS fabrication codes & Standards.
- Strong knowledge on WPS, WPQ, PQR for welder qualification.
- Knowledge on Foundry process, casting and forging
- Knowledge on 3D CMM Inspection
- FMEA, SMA, Kaizen, 5S and Root cause Analysis
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (green belt)
- knowledge on Shot blasting, Painting, Machining and Heat Treatment
- Ability to analyse and resolve problems related to manufacturing and improving product quality
- Ability to read and understand drawings and engineering documents
- Computer experience using MS office products. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Educational Qualification Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed University..
Experience15 year’s relevant experience, at least 5 years of experience in people management
