Job Description

Role Overview


As the Quality Head, this individual will lead the Quality Management function, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and process efficiency. He will be responsible for developing and implementing quality systems, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for all three plant locations of the company.


Key Responsibilities


1. Quality Management Systems (QMS)


  • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO/IATF-compliant quality management systems.
  • Establish and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

2. Supplier Quality Management


  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components.
  • Perform supplier audits, evaluations, and assessments to maintain supplier quality standards.
  • Develop corrective actions and preventive measures for supplier-related issues.

3. Incoming Quality Assurance


  • Establish inspection standards and procedures for incoming raw materials and parts.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming materials.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to manage quality challenges proactively.

4. Process and In-Process Quality


  • Oversee the quality control of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Drive process improvements and reduce defects through Six Sigma, Lean, and other quality tools.
  • Train and mentor the production team on quality best practices.

5. Customer Quality Assurance


  • Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs and Tier 1/2 customers to align on quality expectations.
  • Conduct regular quality reviews and implement feedback into process enhancements.

6. Team Leadership and Development


  • Lead and mentor the quality team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Key Skills, Qualifications and requirements:-


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 12-15 years in quality management, preferably in automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 companies.
  • Requirement: Should be able to handle the complete quality function for all three plants of the company.
  • Expertise in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Proficient in tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Hands-on experience with Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of process control systems for manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management and communication.
