Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet specifications and standards in a hands-on manufacturing environment. The role requires prior experience in a product manufacturing and assembly plant, where the engineer will oversee quality control processes, identify non-conformances, and take immediate corrective actions.

The ideal candidate should have in-depth process knowledge in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and CNC Machining, understanding their advantages and limitations related to quality requirements. The role also requires expertise in implementing quality test procedures, designing Jigs, Fixtures, and Receiving Gauges, and ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 documentation.

• Work with suppliers to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of designs. Recommend modifications to customer part specifications and tolerances to support cost-effective production.
  
• Perform routine inspections to ensure that manufactured parts comply with drawings and specifications, both in-house and at vendor sites. Document inspection reports and efficiently use all measuring instruments
  
• Demonstrate design expertise in Jigs, Fixtures, and Receiving Gauges to support the manufacturing process.
  
• Oversee and verify that vendors adhere to approved inspection and test plans, ensuring that all quality-related procedures are followed.
  
• Collaborate with supplier representatives to address quality concerns, conduct inspections, and ensure closure of non-compliance reports.
  
• Report on and monitor activities related to the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring continuous improvement in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  
• Maintain and manage QA/QC documentation, including certificates, calibration records, test results, inspection requests, and non-compliance reports.
  
• Ensure quality and workmanship at all production stages, maintaining thorough knowledge of production processes and industry best practices.
  
• Coordinate and monitor pre-launch production trials, ensuring that products meet quality requirements before mass production.
  
• Facilitate the use of effective problem-solving techniques to conduct root cause analysis and implement successful corrective actions for quality improvements.
  

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a product manufacturing and assembly environment.
  

  
  

• Strong understanding of Sheet Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and CNC Machining.
  

  
  

• Expertise in ISO 9001 documentation and compliance.
  

  
  

• Proficiency in using measuring instruments, test rings, gauges, and jigs/fixtures.
  

  
  

• Ability to develop and implement quality test procedures for various manufacturing processes.
  

  
  

• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and corrective action implementation.
  

  
  

• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  

  
  

• Experience in handling quality control documentation and reports.
  

  
  

• Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances, industry standards, and process optimization.
  

  
  

• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing industries.
  

  
  

• Proficiency in statistical quality control (SQC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
  

  
  

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
