Quality Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer with 7-10 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various testing methodologies and a strong background in automated testing strategies, particularly using modern tools and AWS components. This role will focus on enhancing the quality of our applications through effective testing practices.

Overall Responsibilities

• Testing Methods: Develop a solid understanding of testing methods, including system testing, functional testing, performance testing, and API testing.
• Automated Test Design: Write and implement effective automated test case design strategies following best practices.
• Technical Proficiency: Utilize Typescript, Grafana K6, and the Vi test library to develop and execute tests.
• AWS Knowledge: Apply knowledge of AWS cloud components, including Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, API Gateway, and ECS, to enhance testing processes.
• Development Tools: Familiarize and work with VS Code IDE for test development and automation tasks.
• Rest Client Automation: Use REST clients such as Postman or Thunder Client for test automation based on API responses.
• Data Formats: Work with JSON and XML file formats to validate and verify data integrity in applications.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze CloudWatch metrics to identify performance bottlenecks and suggest improvements, particularly in the payment domain.

Qualifications

• Experience: 7-10 years of experience in quality engineering and automated testing.

  
  

• Technical Skills:

  
  
  • Strong proficiency in Typescript, Grafana K6, and the Vi test library.
  • Knowledge of AWS components including Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, API Gateway, and ECS.
  • Practical experience with REST clients like Postman and Thunder Client.
  • Ability to work with JSON and XML file formats in the context of test automation.

• Soft Skills:

  
  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills for reporting testing outcomes and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have

• Tools Familiarity:
  • Familiarity with the AWS CDK framework and GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of the SST framework.
  • Experience with shell scripting and containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Understanding of feature flagging and frameworks such as LaunchDarkly.

Day-to-day Activities

• Analyze requirements to develop testing strategies and plans.
• Write and execute automated test cases and analyze test results.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor performance through AWS CloudWatch and provide insights on bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Provide technical guidance to junior team members on best practices in automated testing and debugging.
