As a Quality Assurance Director at JPMorgan Chase within 55ip you will lead the development quality assurance standards, develop robust testing strategies, govern all testing processes, and mentor a team of talented QA engineers. Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the overall QA and test engineering strategy, including processes, tools, and best practices to ensure the highest standards of software quality.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of QA engineers and test engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
- Define and enforce rigorous quality standards for software releases, including functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases across functional, integration, and system levels, with a strong focus on automation.
- Facilitate and coordinate user-acceptance testing.
- Drive the adoption of automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline QA processes and improve testing efficiency.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives and to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Identify and mitigate quality risks, tracking and reporting on key quality metrics to executive stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing coverage, improve testing speed, and keep up-to-date with industry best practices.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on relevant job skill concepts and 10+ years applied experience in software quality assurance and test engineering. In addition, 5+ years of experience in a QA leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading QA teams through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests in a DevOps environment
- Experience with performance testing and security testing tools
- Deep experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in agile teams
- Knowledge of both manual and automated testing approaches
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Domain experience in Wealth Management, Investment Management and Trading systems is strongly preferred
- ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications is preferred
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
