Your responsibilities

As a Qlik Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization harnesses the full potential of Qlik to make data-driven decisions and drive business success. As the central point of contact, you will collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and Qlik users to align our technical infrastructure and data strategy.

The main focus of the Qlik Administrator revolves around developing, deploying, and operating analytical solutions on Qlik. This includes providing support to stakeholders in designing and implementing these solutions. Furthermore, the Qlik Administrator is committed to driving continuous improvement within the Qlik platform while efficiently managing the organization's Qlik resources. This dedication ensures optimal data analytics and reporting capabilities, while also keeping the Qlik environment up-to-date with industry best practices.

One of the main objectives of the Qlik platform is to work on an adoption roadmap. The roadmap outlines a sequence of strategic and tactical elements along with actionable tasks that directly contribute to the successful adoption of Qlik and foster a data-driven culture within your organization. Successful Qlik adoption involves making effective processes, support, tools, and data available and integrated into regular ongoing patterns of usage for content creators, consumers, and stakeholders within Vanderlande.

In the role of Qlik Admin, you are responsible for;

• Installation and Configuration: You will be responsible for the proper installation and configuration of Qlik, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems and meeting our specific organizational requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: regularly collaborate with developers, business users, architects, IT colleagues, full-stack teams, to oversee Qlik features used, manage activities and capacity, and understand future requirements.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain robust security measures within Qlik, including defining security roles, managing and governing data gateways, enforcing data encryption, and monitoring security policies to ensure end-users and workspace users comply with data security protocols.
• User Management: Managing user access by creating and maintaining user accounts, ensuring that the right individuals have appropriate access to data and reports.
• Governance: Define and establish a comprehensive  governance policies, including managing rules, regulations, and policies that define and ensure the effective, controlled, and valuable operation of a BI environment
• Report and Dashboard Development: Collaborating with data analysts and business users, you may be involved in creating or overseeing the development of reports and dashboards that meet our organization's reporting needs.
• Performance Optimization: Monitoring and fine-tuning Qlik's performance is essential for a seamless user experience. You will optimize queries, data models, and report rendering to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: regular monitoring of Qlik workspaces, reports, and data refreshes. Identifying any issues or bottlenecks and promptly troubleshooting problems will be crucial to ensuring a smooth operation with minimal downtime
• License Management: Efficiently managing Qlik licenses by assigning licenses to users, monitor license usage, and optimize license allocation to make the most of our resources.
• Training and Support: Providing comprehensive training and support to Qlik users by creating user documentation, conducting workshops, webinars, and by addressing user queries or issues.
• Keeping up with Updates and Best Practices: Staying abreast of the latest Qlik updates, new features, and best practices is vital to ensuring we leverage the full potential of the platform.
• Qlik Community: Foster a Qlik community where best practices and tips/tricks are actively shared.
• Close Collaboration with our Qlik Support Engineer on complex problems and to ensure smooth function and optimization of our Qlik environment

Your department

The Central Data & Analytics department is tasked with extending, operating and further maturing the data platform of Vanderlande. We provide Data & Analytics related products and services to Vanderlande, primarily catering to internal customers, but supporting our digital service portfolio. Following a hub & spoke model, we establish centralized standards that are then adopted and implemented by decentralized teams within the business.

At the heart of our efforts lies the Data Platform, the core product we are diligently enhancing. This Azure cloud enabled platform based on the Data Mesh principle empowers us to deliver valuable Data Products by transforming, processing, combining, and enriching data from various source systems, ultimately creating a reliable source of truth for our customers. To enable efficient data analysis and visualization, we actively govern, and maintain the Vanderlande Qlik Servers and Power BI Premium capacity. In addition, we provide templates, establish a clear workflow, and foster a community of experts.

Our work centers around our Federated Governance model, with the Central Data & Analytics Organization as the hub serving the spokes. Our scope encompasses Data Governance, Platform Operations, Core Platform Development, and Full stack Development. The technologies we use span across the Azure stack and Databricks ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration and optimal utilization of resources. By utilizing advanced analytics techniques and the latest technology, our focus on innovation empowers us to continuously improve and innovate the Data Platform.

Operating as a scaled Agile organization, we embrace the SAFe Agile framework and work collaboratively across different teams, all united by a common backlog and shared roadmap. This approach allows us to be highly adaptable, continuously adjusting to the evolving strategic needs of stakeholders within Vanderlande.

Your qualifications and skills

As the Qlik Administrator, you are the guardian of our data-driven success. Your expertise and dedication will enable us to unlock the full potential of Qlik, driving our organization forward with data-backed insights and informed decision-making. You will therefore bring:
 

• 7+ yrs relevant exp with minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders to meet organizational reporting needs, while possessing excellent communication skills for providing training and support to Qlik users
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated to explore new opportunities which contribute to the data and analytics strategy
• Proficient in agile methodologies and experienced in working within agile teams
• Certifications related to Qlik administration or data analytics, such as Data Architect and System Administration, are a plus.
• Having a basic understanding of other visualization tools such as Power BI Qlik Admin would be considered advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and maintain visibility with stakeholders (business) and within the Data & Analytics team
• Proven experience of 3+ years as a Qlik Administrator or similar role, showcasing hands-on experience with Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud administration, deployment, and optimization.
• Profound proficiency in Qlik Reporting and Qlik NPrinting installation, configuration, and administration.
• Solid understanding of data governance policies, security concepts, and data modeling principles and visualization best practices.
• Familiarity with Qlik features and capabilities, including capacity management, paginated reports, and AI-driven insights.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating Qlik administrative tasks and managing Qlik resources programmatically.
• Proficiency in SQL or other querying languages to perform data analysis and optimization tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks in Qlik.
