Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilledQA Engineerwith 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance to join our team. This role will focus on testing ETL processes and data pipelines, specifically within the AWS ecosystem, including S3 and Redshift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data quality, validating ETL processes, and verifying that data is accurately moved, transformed, and loaded into target systems.


Overall Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for ETL processes using AWS services (S3, Redshift).
  • Validate data integrity and quality throughout the ETL process by performing comprehensive data validation and verification.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into testing scenarios.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of data workflows and ETL jobs to ensure compliance with defined behavior and data transformations.
  • Identify, document, and track defects found during testing, providing clear and concise feedback to the development teams.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress and outcomes, providing insights into the quality of ETL processes.
  • Ensure that best practices for testing are followed and contribute to the development of QA standards and procedures.
  • Continuously analyze test results and refine testing strategies based on findings to improve data quality and adherence to standards.
Technical Skills:

QA and ETL Testing:


  • Extensive experience in QA methodologies, processes, and best practices in a data environment.
  • Proficient in testing ETL processes and validating data transformations.
  • Familiarity with data profiling techniques and data quality assessments.

AWS Experience:


  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically S3 for data storage and Redshift for data warehousing.
  • Understanding of AWS architecture and services relevant to data engineering and analytics.

Database and Querying:


  • Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data in relational databases.
  • Familiarity with OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) concepts and data modeling.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, specifically in ETL testing or data quality assurance.
  • Proven experience working with cloud-based data solutions and data warehousing.
Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Design and implement effective testing strategies for ETL processes.
  • Perform thorough testing of ETL workflows to validate data movement and transformations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on data structure and requirements.
  • Participate in daily meetings to report on testing progress and share insights.
  • Create detailed test documentation and maintain a test environment to facilitate ongoing testing efforts.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS or Quality Assurance are a plus.

  • Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
