The QA Engineer II, Automation role involves developing and maintaining robust automated test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and scalable applications, and providing support for software releases and defect investigations. Additionally, the role includes offering valuable feedback and assisting product owners with feature prioritization through informed technical decisions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop automated test scripts that are robust, performant, and maintainable using Playwright
Work closely with developers, designers, and DevOps to meet team commitments
Work with the QA Lead to improve software development and quality assurance processes
Ensure that applications and APIs developed by the team are reliable and meet users' needs
Work with Performance test experts and make sure the platform is scalable and reliable.
Provide the product owner with the information they need to prioritize features (e.g., effort estimates, alternatives, technical risk)
Manage the timeline and status of the software release process
Work closely with developers to learn implementation details about product features and perform releases
Provide production support for software products by investigating and recreating reported defects
Give timely, helpful feedback to peers and managers.
Make decisions on technical tradeoffs by looking at tactical and strategic perspectives.
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days remote / 2 days in office
30-day notification period preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
At least 4 years of experience in automated software testing and quality assurance
Experience with the entire software lifecycle - requirements capture, analysis, design, implementation, quality assurance, deployment, and maintenance
Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as Playwright with Javascript
Experience with API testing and performance testing with tools using Playwright
Average knowledge on technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript
Basic expertise in Accessibility and Performance Testing
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services is a plus
Experience working on Agile teams that release at least every two weeks
Familiarity with standard web and mobile architectures, both hardware and software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Be motivated to meet commitments and deliver the highest value possible
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services a plus
Basic expertise in Accessibility and Performance Testing
