Job Description: QA Lead - Automation & API Testing

Location: Bangalore
 


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Leadership:Lead and manage the quality control automation team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.
  • Development:Develop, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks, processes, and tools to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with development teams to identify, isolate, and track defects, continuously improving testing processes.
  • Mentorship:Mentor and guide team members to develop their technical and professional skills.

Software Requirements:


  • Proficiency in automation testing, including creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
  • Excellent knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, and TestNG.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology and the software development life cycle.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.

Category-wise Technical Skills:


Automation Testing:


  • Expertise in developing and executing automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, and TestNG.
  • Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and best practices.

Programming:


  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for test automation.

Software Development:


  • Understanding of Agile development methodology and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and processes.

API Testing:


  • Strong experience in API testing, including the use of tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
  • Ability to design, develop, and execute API test cases.

Experience:


  • Experience: 5years of experience in software quality assurance and testing, with at least 5 years of experience in leading teams.
  • Track Record:Proven track record of delivering high-quality, reliable software applications.
  • Agile Environment:Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile development environment.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Test Plans:Oversee the development and implementation of automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Review:Review test results and ensure that any identified defects are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Improvement:Lead the continuous improvement of the automation testing process, including the adoption of new testing tools and methodologies.
  • Mentorship:Mentor and coach team members on testing best practices and new testing techniques.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, project management, and business teams, to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualification:


  • Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Leadership:Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Mentorship:Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
  • Problem-Solving:Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Organizational:Excellent organizational and time management skills.
