Job Description: QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Java, Selenium, API testing, and SQL to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing automated test scripts, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications.


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Software Requirements:


    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand software requirements.
    • Analyze requirement specifications and design test cases accordingly.
  • Automation Development:


    • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium.
    • Build and implement API test automation frameworks.
    • Execute automated test scripts and analyze results to identify defects.
  • Testing and Reporting:


    • Conduct regression, functional, and performance testing.
    • Document test cases, test results, and defect reports.
    • Communicate testing progress and issues to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:


    • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on test automation best practices.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing and automation.
  • Collaboration:


    • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
    • Mentor junior QA team members on automation practices and tools.

Software Requirements:


  • Proficiency in Java programming language.
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
  • Strong SQL skills for database testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit).
  • Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).

Category-wise Technical Skills:


Programming:


  • Proficiency in Java programming language.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

Automation Tools:


  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application testing.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman and RestAssured.

Database:


  • Strong SQL skills for database testing and validation.

Frameworks:


  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as TestNG and JUnit.

Version Control:


  • Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in QA Automation.
  • Proven experience in automated testing of web applications and APIs.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is preferred.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Development:Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium.
  • Execution:Execute automated test scripts and analyze results to identify defects.

Qualification:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
