About Our Team:
The Publishing Relations Executive – Serial Content is a key member of the Content & Data Sourcing (CDS) team within the Data Operations department. The CDS team is responsible for the acquisition and licensing strategy of third-party content across a wide range of Elsevier products. We manage relationships with over 15,000 content partners, encompassing various content types (e.g., books, journals, standards, funding data, patents) and data elements (e.g., abstracts, keywords, references). Our objective is to ensure compliance when accessing and reusing content to support strategic and monetizable innovation. The CDS team ensures the successful onboarding of new sources and content providers, securing rights and permissions, and establishing effective content delivery methods.
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Publishing Relations Executive with a passion for building long-lasting relationships with our content partners. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining solid and trusted relationships with third-party content partners, providing an excellent customer experience throughout the onboarding process, promoting the inclusion of third-party content in Elsevier products, and ensuring that rights and permissions are formalized contractually.
About The Role:
The Publishing Relations Executive – Serial Content plays a vital role in onboarding new serial sources and content providers to our databases. You will ensure Elsevier's best practices for the use and display of third-party serial content, safeguarding both Elsevier's reputation and the intellectual property of our content partners. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing our customer experience (CX) journeys, addressing pain points related to the onboarding of serial content (e.g., journals, book series, serial conferences), and ensuring that all key operational activities are handled proactively.
You are a self-organized, results-driven, proactive, and customer-centric individual with strong relationship-building abilities and business acumen. You will ensure that the onboarding process is smooth and meets necessary quality standards. As a team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills, you will be based in Chennai and report to the Team Manager – Publishing Relations Management – Serial Content.
Responsibilities:
Build trusted relationships with content partners by driving the onboarding activities of serial content.
Act as a gatekeeper, ensuring Elsevier's best practices for the use and display of third-party content, safeguarding Elsevier's reputation and content partners' intellectual property.
Ensure that all operational activities related to the onboarding processes are well handled.
Deliver a smooth, unfragmented, and consistent customer experience across all touchpoints and stages of the onboarding lifecycle.
Drive and execute initiatives supporting serial content growth through faster onboarding.
Initiate new content delivery setups and facilitate transitions in content delivery platforms and formats to ensure speed and completeness.
Manage the lifecycle of the licensing process, including renewal activities for selected content partners.

3+ years of proven corporate experience, preferably in an international matrix organization

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
