WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll be part of McKinsey’s SHaPE Proposal Team and will be based in India (McKinsey Global Capabilities & Services, Gurugram).
You will be a thought partner to SHaPE leaders to help deliver the client activation mission, supporting the overall client activation strategy and serving as the point person managing priority proposal opportunities. You will collaborate with the Practice leadership and management team, as well as consultants leading priority proposals.
Alongside your alignment to SHaPE, you will be part of McKinsey’s Proposal Services path, a global community focused on growing our existing and new client relationships by enabling efficient and effective delivery of proposals. You will collaborate with other colleagues (e.g., client development advisors, proposal strategists, designers, competitive insights specialists, etc.) to shape our thinking on proposal best practices and drive continuous improvement.
You will report to the SHaPE Proposal Team Leader in Asia.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be a key member of the Proposal Squad for SHaPE, with a focus on India and Southeast Asia.
In this role, you will support teams within the SHaPE Practice to co-create elements of distinctive proposals and associated supporting materials.
Specifically, you will coordinate the proposal document and process under the guidance of Proposal Managers/Specialists, ensuring the creation of timely and high-quality proposal content. You will gather feedback and manage the cadence of iterations and reviews with consultant teams.
By embedding yourself in consultant and proposal teams through an agile operating model, you will learn client context and create compelling proposal documents, materials, and experiences. You will seek opportunities to incorporate the firm’s broader capabilities and expertise into proposals, contributing to positive team dynamics by supporting other team members and celebrating success stories.
Additionally, you will grow your industry and sector knowledge both during and outside of proposals to proactively shape content with relevant insights. Adherence to relevant procedures, such as file structure, archiving, and backup for all proposal materials and processes, is crucial.
You will prepare templates, compliance matrices, close-out activities, and other administrative elements throughout proposal development based on submission requirements.
By building proposal development expertise, you will create content and thought leadership that can be used as best practices at the cell or global level, and maintain and populate proposal assets such as playbooks, digital tools, templates, best-practice examples, and reference cases.
