The Role


As a Senior Buyer with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc….


  • We are looking for experienced Project Procurement Manager to join our team at Vadodara location. The ideal candidate will have around  20 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, with a strong background in oil and gas, chemicals, Energy projects. A technical qualification (B.E/B.Tech or DIP is required for this role.
  • Preparation of Procurement Procedures & Contracting strategies as per end client’s Procurement guidelines.
  • Acquiring the necessary materials and services to ensure timely project execution and completion.
  • Implement quality and schedule related prerequisites from project management and Engineering
  • Execution of expediting measures according to expediting plan (e.g. desk expediting, supplier visits, workshops).
  • Meeting arrangement and co-ordination with vendors & engineering team to speedup manufacturing activities & to achieve delivery milestones. 
  • Update, monitor and share pre-order status regularly. Participate in Project Review
  • Meetings. Report potential problems to senior management for corrective solutions.
  • Support buyers to prepare Project Vendor List and Client approval of the same.
  • Preparation of Tender / Bid documents
  • Follow-up with Vendors for bid submission, Attend pre-bid meetings and respond to pre-bid queries. 
  • Expedite the procurement and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services
  • Collaborate with procurement teams, project managers, and vendors to ensure that orders are processed and delivered on schedule.
  • Track and update the status of orders, shipments, and deliveries, ensuring that all project requirements are met.
  • Resolve any delays or issues with suppliers, and maintain communication to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Review and verify all shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and certifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all orders, deliveries, and supplier communications.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to project teams on the status of deliveries and material readiness.
  • Assist with any logistical or documentation issues related to the supply of materials for oil and gas projects.
  • Ensure that all deliveries comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards relevant to the oil and gas industry.
  • Lead team of buyers / expeditors and manage procurement activities of projects including desk expediting and Inspection co-ordination.
  • Coordinate with Inspection, QA, QC and Expediting Department as required.
  • Monitor the Record of Lessons Learned. Follow up for implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with project timelines and specifications.

About You


To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:


  • Around 20 years of experience in SCM with minimum of 3-5 years of experience as PPM or in a similar role, with a focus on oil and gas, Chemical, Energy projects.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale oil and gas projects, Industrial, Chemical, Green Energy Projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the supply chain, procurement, and logistics processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage team of Buyers and Expeditors
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • A technical qualification such as B.E/B.Tech or DIP is required.
