Project Manager - Business Analyst (BA)

Position:Project Manager - Business Analyst
Experience Level:8-10 Years
Domain:Core Acquiring/Processing Business, Payments Domain


Overall Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage projects related to the acquisition and processing of payments, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, product teams, and technical departments, to gather and document software requirements.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, reporting on progress and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive project agendas and promote engagement amongst team members and stakeholders.

Software Requirements:


  • Extensive understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, MS Project).
  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation techniques.

Category-wise Technical Skills:


Payments Processing:


  • Knowledge of client settlement, interchange settlement, clearing/funding processes.
  • Understanding of billing systems and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Data Analysis:


  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with SQL for querying and analyzing data sets.

Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of payment industry regulations and standards (e.g., PCI DSS, NACHA).


Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relay complex information to non-technical stakeholders.


Risk Management: Capable of identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.


Experience:


  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the core acquiring/processing business domain within the payments sector.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects from inception to completion, delivering within scope, time, and budget.

Day-to-Day Activities:


  • Daily stand-up meetings with project teams to assess progress and reallocate resources as needed.
  • Continuous collaboration with the clients to refine requirements based on their feedback.
  • Regular updates to management on project status, highlighting milestones reached and any potential roadblocks.
  • Conducting risk assessments and updating mitigation plans accordingly.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-BA) is a plus.
  • Expertise in project management and business analysis with a focus on the payments domain.

Soft Skills:


  • Strong leadership capabilities to inspire and guide teams toward achieving project goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
