The Business Segment New Energy Business (SE NEB) develops, manufactures and sells innovative Hydrogen and Power-to-X systems, solutions and services based on the SILYZER portfolio. With this innovative electrochemical system, water is split into its components hydrogen H2 and oxygen O2 using the PEM (Proton Exchange membrane) and (green) electricity. By helping our customers in the industrial, energy and mobility sectors to decarbonize their processes we are taking a further step towards a sustainable future.

The Project Engineering Manager takes ownership for the professional management of all relevant engineering discipline in proposals and projects execution throughout the life of the project serving customers and following related contracts. He is responsible for scope management, provision of technical specifications and documentation, BoQs, change management, quality, EHS, risk & opportunities, time schedule and progress reporting. He follows Siemens Energy processes, workflows and guidelines.


Your new role – challenging and future-oriented


  • Preparation of technical bid and coordination of all necessary interfaces (e.g. component and balance of plant integration) to ensure that customer specifications are fulfilled, and exclusions are justified
  • Responsible for budget, time schedule, quality and cost optimization for all engineering disciplines during project execution  
  • Active management of internal and external engineering partners
  • Responsible for identifying technical deviations between standard and project scope to ensure quality of deliverables
  • Provision of support and guidance to the team for system & equipment design, development of data sheets, P&IDs and I&C specification and definition of process guarantees
  • Ensuring design guidelines and relevant engineering codes and standards
  • Responsible for technical clarification with customer, vendor engineering and release of RFQs (purchasing specifications) for system and components such as pumps, water treatment, cooling system etc.
  • Responsible for data and document management and technical customer documentation
  • Support in HAZOP, risk assessment and SIL study for various sub systems
  • Erection and Commissioning support

•            The successful completion of a master's degree in process engineering or related engineering areas is available


•            Intensive working experience in engineering or other technical functions and ability to deal with the interface requirements of partners


•            Knowledge of codes and standards – DIN/ ASME / API / ANSI / NEMA / NPFA etc.


•            Expertise in the field of operational concepts, I&C systems and DCS specifications


•            Commissioning experience and basic knowledge in fact finding, test definition, troubleshooting & plant performance evaluation


•            Competencies in engineering tools such as COMOS and deep understanding about P&IDs methodology, valve and heat exchanger design, gas metering and analysis and water chemistry (incl. sampling & dosing)


•            Organizational skills and knowledge as well as experience in practicing state-of-the-art project management methods


•            Good decision-making skills and independent working capability


•            Team work & collaboration capabilities including communication skills


•            Intercultural sensitivity and willingness to travel


•            Fluent knowledge of English & German


•            Great passion for the area of energy transition and decarbonization
