Project Engineer

Essential duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned)

Production

• Supervise threading operations and related activities at a minimum of two project sites and guarantee customer’s requirement is fulfilled as per given schedule.

  
  

• Run site activities within expenses budget forecast approved by management of the company.

  
  

• Make sure cutting, grinding, forging and threading processes are carried out as per procedures and machine manuals and provide training to manpower if necessary.

  
  

• Optimize machine use in term of productivity as well as life of tooling and consumables.

  
  

• Ensure quantity of threads manufactured does not exceed the quantity stated in work orders as well as two times the quantity of couplers supplied.

  
  

• Guarantee strict adherence to customer’s security rules and corporate security policy.

  
  

• Control attendance of manpower at site.

  
  

• Participate in weekly production meeting to report site activities, problems met, propose corrective actions and receive work instructions from line Manager.

  
  

Quality and housekeeping

• Follow bar end preparation manual strictly and provide training to manpower if necessary.

  
  

• Perform frequent and regular quality controls and maintain QC register.

  
  

• Prepare samples for qualification tests.

  
  

• Organize internal pull tests to monitor reliability of mechanical spicing system.

  
  

• Visit construction site on regular and frequent basis to make sure coupler use complies with assembly instructions.

  
  

• Maintain good housekeeping at site by following principles of 5S.

  
  

• Maintain necessary documentation such as customer work orders, production reports, tool cards, couplers supplied VS threads manufactured statement, machine maintenance history cards, etc.

  
  

Maintenance

• Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance as per maintenance procedures and machine manuals.

  
  

• Coordinate with maintenance team if any problems / breakdown occur on the machines.

  
  

• Perform corrective maintenance of any type if problems can be fixed without intervention of maintenance team.

  
  

Inventories

• Ensure inventories of tools, consumables and spare parts available at site are in line with min/max stock levels fixed by the management of the company.

  
  

• Perform stock counting on a monthly basis and communicate stock reports timely.

  
  

• Monitor stock of couplers at customer’s storage area, report related data in daily production report (internal use) and inform any upcoming shortage.

  
  

Coordination with customer

• Submit invoice to and collect payment from customer.

  
  

• Investigate on a monthly basis about customer’s short term threads and couplers demand (forecast) and report data to Operations Manager.

  
  

• Reconcile invoices monthly (quantity of threads, deductions towards outside threading - customer storage usage is strictly prohibited) with customer’s measurement book on a monthly basis.

  
  

Reporting

• Complete and communicate on a day to day basis the daily production report (internal reporting) containing fields related to production output, condition of machines, attendance at site, site expenses and other miscellaneous information.

  
  

• Fill daily the threads production report (delivery note), get it approved by customer’s approving authority and communicate monthly all reports along with summary sheet to accounts.

  
  

• Communicate testing reports after completion of related tests.
