POSITION SUMMARY


One of the key enablers to our business growth is data-centric engineering that focuses on lifecycle data integrity and digitization to enhance the execution capabilities of Air Products' mega projects. A critical goal is to increase the Company's internal EPC execution efficiency by bolstering the organization's automation capabilities and driving the full integration of systems and work processes used across the entire project lifecycle.


Air Products has a build, own, and operate business model, from developing product lines to full-scope EPC and Plant Operations. This position will strengthen our project information management and handover capabilities.



DIMENSIONS
The Project Data Lead will address project information management automation requirements on global projects.. The candidate must have proven experience in engineering data present in systems and software applications that are broadly adopted by EPC organizations. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of typical EPC system integrations, interfaces, and dependencies. This individual will work closely with key stakeholders, including Operations, Information Technology, Suppliers, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Controls to develop a comprehensive data delivery plan. 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
 


  • Works with the EPC Automation Manager to identify project data requirements.
  • Develops data management plan for projects and handover to Operations.
  • Works closely with other Project Data Leads to ensure consistent data standards and rules are applied.
  • Specifies project data requirements.
  • Specifies vendor/supplier data requirements.
  • Develops data validation and exception/non-conformance processes.
  • Transforms and maps data to specific formats.
  • Loads data into data management tools.
  • Maintains master tag lists, project equipment lists, piping line lists, instrumentation indexes, as well as other equipment-related lists.
  • Ensures that required pre-qualification of contractors/suppliers with respect to data delivery capabilities is performed
  • Keeps aware of industry trends, best practices, best-in-class systems, and methods used in the process industry.

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
 


  • Knowledge of EPC systems in engineering design, document management, subcontract management, construction management, and commissioning.
  • Strong working knowledge of applications used on large EPC projects, e.g., Hexagon SmartPlant tools, especially SDx,P6, Ecosys, and OpenText.
  • Thorough understanding of data management, integrity, and dependencies.
  • Skilled in data validation and transformation.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
  • Ability to assess the impact of new application requirements.
  • Must have advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft BI or QlikSense.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 


  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience (minimum).
  • Experience on large-scale EPC, Oil and Gas, Industrial Gases, or Petrochemical projects (>500MM CapEx).
  • Strong experience in the information management of detailed engineering activities for process plants.
  • Experience implementing CFIHOS data interoperability standards.
  • Experience with data governance tools Datum360 or AVEVA ISM.
  • Strong experience in engineering systems architecture and work processes.
  • Experience in the use, configuration, and interoperability of Hexagon engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of the information flow between the automation tools.
  • Data experience and certification: Oracle or Microsoft SQL
