Job Summary:


Flowserve is looking for a Buyer to help achieve our team goals by guaranteeing the purchase of subcontracted components and services at the best conditions of price, quality and deadlines, in accordance with recommendations of global Supply Chain Team. In this role you will develop and implement purchasing strategies by supporting the Commercial Operations team regarding advance procurement activities, developing our strategy in the engineered markets, with the goal of increasing our profitability and our on-time delivery. You will work on strengthening the alignment of the Company's Purchasing strategy and business strategy. Having the full ownership of the suppliers portfolio, you will work in close relationship with supply team to improve our delivery.


Responsibilities & Requirements:


  1. Project Procurement
  • Facilitate and manage suppliers to Clarify orders and specifications with stakeholders, escalate when necessary.


  • Avoid cost due to ambiguous orders and/or specifications


  1. Project Management
  • Report percentage of completion of orders to finance


  • Ensure on-time delivery from suppliers


  • Manage project-related product approval process until shipment, assist Project Manager on buyouts supplier related, in coordination with Quality and Engineering


  1. Supplier Management
  • Ensure Project Kick-off meetings with critical suppliers


  • Manage assigned project-related deliverables, including documentation and key supplier milestones


  • Drive suppliers to meet contractual delivery dates/project need-by dates (hardware and documents)


  1. Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure quality of goods from suppliers with defects below 3500ppm


  • Work with Engineering to secure technical compliance


  • Assist Project Manager to coordinate customer and/or supplier-requested changes


  1. Risk Management
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks relative to the managed scope


  • Ensure the company's commercial and contractual position is not undermined during project execution


  1. Communication and Coordination
  • Effectively communicate timeline and/or cost changes and new information to the COE team


  • Assist Project Manager to update project changes and adjust Buyout Suppliers related schedules as needed.


  • Ensure accurate and timely Percentage of Completion reporting


  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineer in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience


Preferred Experience / Skills:


  • Purchasing techniques proficiency


  • Knowledge and implementation at the purchasing level of technical requirements and quality related to products


  • Fluency in English


  • Good understanding of all the main purchasing areas: negotiations, evaluation and development of suppliers, supplier quality, logistics etc.


  • Knowledge of the requirements of our markets


  • Global and strategic negotiating skills
