Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. The positions on the project will start as assignment in Navi Mumbai, Dahej or Nagothane.




Job Summary:

As a Project Accountant, the successful candidate will report directly to the Project Controls Manager for all activities associated with the Financial Scope of the Project in India and functional guidance from the Energy Financial Services Manager. Duties will include having a full understanding of the financial requirements of the client contract and procedures and work processes necessary to support the project's activities and ensure compliance with internal (Bechtel) and external (GAAP) requirements as well as client's regulatory requirements associated with contract commercial terms.


The position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices, a customer-service orientation with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style, flexibility, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
 




Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional accounting support services. 
  • Extracts and performs preliminary analysis of technical data. 
  • Works with transactional groups (e.g., Accounts Payable and Receivables and Client billings) to assist in common problems across projects that may be candidates for work process improvements. 
  • Assists with audit queries (internal and external). 
  • Provides financial analysis for the projects.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree holder in Accounting/ Finance
  • At least 4-5 years of Accounting/ Finance experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with a strong ethical behavior in workplace practices
  • Customer-service oriented with a demonstrated professional demeanor and communication style


Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to lead meetings
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and use of Excel software
